fairplay to Pats selling 2300 tickets maybe it will come close to full which given the north stand is only open for 500 would mean a crowd of 8500.

I wonder what the approach of the Managers will be? Two teams that will be slugging it out at the top over the course of the season.........play full teams and go for it or have a phony war with a mixed first /second choice pick

Considering last years sluggish start would have cost Rovers the title in most other years I'd imagine they want to storm out of the blocks. Statement stuff by boths side I think will be the hoped for approach.

Very healthy attendance for an LSC game of 2,061 in Oriel Park last night.

Why not ? Rovers don’t like money all of a sudden ? With the capacity of Tallaght going to 10,000 it seems to me that there’s no excuse for not selling as many tickets as you can. If we get to the stage where Tallaght is selling out 10,000 seats then that will really be great news for the league overall, and Rovers in particular.

I’m still slightly pinching myself at the upturn in crowds for the past couple of years to be honest. Been a season ticket holder at Pats for just about 30 years now, and I never thought I’d see it. It’s absolutely fantastic, and hopefully can continue.

Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

I don’t know of any team where there are empty home seats increase the away following? And any game where away fans sell out is likely to be fairly full too. Why give the opposition the benefit of more fans when overall its not huge in the coffers

Rovers could 100% do with any extra revenue from away fans and I can't see us turning it down unless the guards intervene. There is no loi team that can turn down money

Well if there is any upside to ownership instability and a bunch of new signings, its the curiosity value of preseason games.

Doubled up this year as both, should be re-named the Drogs pre season cup, that was their 15th win ! We seem to struggle in this match almost every year, even in SK era.

It is their annual cup final so not unexpected that they really bust a gut to earn some silverware!

only Bohs Shels and Pats would want more than standard allocation and for those games, we’ll sell enough

in the Kenny yrs Dundalk had a couple of yrs where they wanted more tickets. It didn’t happen and were empty seats
the yr Pats won the league, they had a load buying in home end as we didn’t give them more

longford and cork off the top of my head recent ish games we could have sold more but weren’t given them and 00-‘s of empty seats . Cos they don’t want to give away team advantage If reconfigured the Sligo and Dundalk too but not as many

And I know it's only the second proper four-sided ground in the league and I'm complaining!
I was hoping for that too. Especially with the Rovers ultras at the opposite end. It would really add to the atmosphere in the ground imo, and definitely improve the spectacle on tv if you could clearly see both sets of ultras behind the goals.

Yeah one thing i've always thought took away a bit from the atmosphere at games and also watching them on tv is the absence of ultras behind the goals and now that Rovers are in a position to have that it's a shame if they don't

Should be interesting crowds at next 2 Louth Derbys, prob won't matter too much at Drogs as their capacity is limited to 2,200 or so, but both games moved to 1PM, both on BH's too.

Green St has come to the wee county after last Fri night's events !

I think I'm right in saying the 888k total figure from last season wouldn't have included the LSC, MSC or European figures. Given the multiple 1k+ gates we have seen so far I think there's a chance we could break the 1 million figure if Rovers get to a groups stage and if we get the right cup final pairing.

It's the likes of Wexford, Treaty and Athlone in the first division which I will be the most interested to see how they fair. If those could start averaging closer to a 1k it would make up a heavy chuck of the 112k that we were short of the million in 2023.

Its something to do with fan pathways into the away section.
The club offices and shop are now moving from the west stand to the New North stand so home fans will be milling around the entrances to the North stand buying gear etc and segregation becomes an obvious issue.
I agree though from a TV perspective it would be great to have away fans behind the goal, on the other hand for some matches that might be only a handful which could look worse
