    Darren Potter 3 year deal

Potter just signed for 3 more years at Liverpool. This must be a good sign for him that he's still wanted!

(lets not forget Partridge though!) Just hope Potter won't be another case of being happy in the reserves at a big club! I think Potter could come good - give him a year - reckon he needs to build himself up. he plays mostly right wing - so he could be one for the euros 2008!

I think Rafa has shown that he rates him not just as a reserve player but as a first team sqaud member. He has got a couple of useful starts in the CL qualifiers. I think this is a great opportunity for him.

No. Partridge is an out-and-out winger & Potter prefers to play centrally but because Gerrard / Alonso / Hamann have these spots sewn up Potter's recent opportunities have been mainly as a wide midfielder. He looks a much better prospect in the middle in my opinion.

Good to hear potter is more of a central midfielder. We have wingers coming out of our ears. I hope things goes well for him at liverpool. It will be hard to get a place in the first team

That may have been Anthony Gerrard (Steven's cousin), centre half. He played a few games for one of the underage sides, but when he had to produce documentation proving his eligibility, he couldn't. Doesn't sound like anything I've heard from Potter.

Last summer: "I think they realised that I had Irish grandparents and seeing as nothing had happened with England they approached me. As soon as the opportunity came along I just took it. It's a decision I've never regretted, in fact it's one of the best decisions I have made. I've made two appearances now for the under-21s and hopefully I can add to that."
