The Students' Centre on campus does food and drink; five minute walk from the ground. Or Farmer Brown's pub in Clonskeagh is 15 minutes' walk away, as is Ashton's

Kennedy's which is opposite the train station entrace is the nearest pub to Oriel Park in Dundalk (outside of the bars in the ground itself).

They serve good food and always had a good crowd in before matches.

I’ve always found Tallaght a bit brutal in terms of pubs near the ground

Only live down the road and never go near Tallaght for a drink apart from away games .The Abberly Court is ok for a pint before the game but is a ten minute walk past the square to the stadium. No point mentioning food as the square is packed with places.

It's horrendous and I'm a rovers man. The Maldron is ****e. Abberly and Dragon your best bets but they are a stroll.

I'm hoping the new stadium bar will be good and I'd even be of the opinion that away fans should have a bar. The place needs to have much better food and drink options to be honest. Tough with the council running things though.

By the by how many clubs have a good clubhouse with decent facilities?

Anyone have a particular favourite food & drink experience from within a league clubs venue?

I hear Bohs do a great burger & chips at a good price!

Dundalk: There's the Lilyhwhite lounge and enda McGuill suite in Oriel, suppose it depends who they are playing regarding if away fans are let in. Kennedy's is 2 mins down the road across from railway station but I find they aren't overly welcoming of football fans, nice beer garden tho. The town itself is very walkable too, 5-10 mins and you've any amount of bars and chippers

The Maldron is cat, alright. If I happen to be in town before a match, I'll usually stay there and get a late Luas out.

I'd agree with this. I love the development of the ground. But it feels like its in a very weird spot. Obviously its realtively easy to get to with the LUAS and theres the hotel across the road, as well as decent parking options, but the whole area is very sterile.
Longford, Athlone and Wexford all suffer from being outside their towns and varying levels of awkward to get to, so they would be my bottom 3 (though we did get to drink in the club house in Wexford back in the day, I haven't been back in a while, do they still have that?)

The only issue with that is its a long old journey on the LUAS if you have had a few beers! I've had to jump off and find somewhere to relieve myself at least once in the past.

With Athlones ground Lissywoolen its not as far out as Bishopsgate it can be easily walked out from bus station in 15 mins. But it is isolated though in regards to any shops/pubs etc.

If Harps ever do move across the River Finn to Stanorlar, there will be the Finn Valley Athletic club which has a good sized bar and offers good food just a 2 min walk down the road, also have McGuigans bar just 5 min away out the Letterkenny road, Kees Hotel just a few min walk and several takeaway/restaurants with a 5 min walk radius

Is food only a recent thing there? Thought I went there before and they had nothing on offer

They might have changed the days they serve on. Currently they don't serve food Monday or Tuesday, so it could be that it wasn't a Friday match you were at.

I feel Bray is one of the better grounds for this. It is well accessed by public transport and by car. There are probably a dozen bars within 10mins walk, several food outlets within 10/15 min walk and amusements, bowling, snooker/pool all in the area as well. I cant think of another ground that has so much in its vicinity.

Bray, without a shadow of doubt, is one of the best located grounds in the league. Biggest issue is lack of parking really. Just have to get lucky with on street parking, or you've got a hefty enough walk ahead of you.

Union 8 that place is called I think. It’s on the site of a restaurant that was open for a few years forget the name of it now but was something 8 aswell. I’ve never tried the new place. As for rascals the pizza in there is unbelievable. The beer is ok aswell as craft beer goes.

That's the one, spotted it from the bus(took in the Sligo game which they won 1-0)and had a pint in there.

Ive goneto matches in Bray which is only a few stops on the Dart for me and ended up missing the match having a few

The pub that used to be open at the DART station was a post-match favourite for alot of away fans good memories

Maybe that's it. Been in the pub a few times but mostly midweek. Might have been food one of the days but we were in a rush so this would make sense

I haven't driven to a game in Bray, got supporter bus once and used the Dart every other time, so agree parking could be an issue. But on other metrics I feel it is easily the best LoI with amenities near by. My last visit was August bank holiday for Bray v Longford and their was a great atmosphere along the seafront. If only they could entice a small percentage of the visitors to include a game of soccer in their day out.
