For anyone interested, a map of what is happening is attached. Our current ground is at Newcastle, just above the word "Ferrycarrig" on the map. The proposed new motorway, shown in yellow, almost obliterates the current ground and there'll be a new bridge over the River Slaney.
The proposed new ground will be at Killeens which is right beside the second yellow dot south of the river and much nearer to Wexford town. There's a large land bank here now owned by the County Council. With the current Wexford bypass (the road in red) becoming significantly less important, you could see a new access point from the site to the current bypass which I think would be badly needed.

Wexford have confirmed on their website that an application has been made for a grant under the Sports Capital Scheme for the development of the new ground at Killeens.

The "Wexford People" reporting today that the first draft of the plan for the Killeens development, including the new SETU campus, the LOI ground for Wexford FC, two schools, housing, GAA facilities and an airport will be presented to the Wexford Borough Council in September. (OK - the airport is a joke!)
The "Wexford People" is reporting that the site for the new pitch at Killeens will be transferred to the club by the County Council in the New Year. However, SETU, who can be considered as the "anchor tenant" of the whole development, have not secured funding for their project in Killeens as yet.
The "Wexford People" is reporting today that, due to a dispute between Wexford Co. Council and a landowner on valuation, the matter of the compulsory purchase of part of the lands at Killeens has now gone to the High Court. My understanding is that the Council owns the majority of the site already, but it could slow down progress on the development at Killeens.
Good news re the new ground at Killeens is that the High Court has refused to hear the case regarding the level of compensation payable in relation to compulsory purchase of part of the site. It should mean that work on the entire development will commence at an earlier stage.
Marty, Too early yet for any fixed dates. But it might mean that work may be able to start a bit earlier.
