I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
How can Higgins stay on, they are in a title race as much on squad ability as how they are coached and youd have no confidence of them not blowing a gift wrapped league again. Results can go against you in Europe and it may be harsh but it would be the excuse an owner needed to change management. If that sme Derry squad were managed by SK in Europe and many were, would we be looking at the same outcome? I dont think so myself!
Any thinking on LoI fans being deluded on standards just have to look t our ranking relative to teams we are playing, if they are ranked below then they are bad results, if above then it is par for the course and didnt play above our level. We will be dropping to our level over a few years anyway if early round points continue not to be taken.

We ended last year in 35th, and started this year 33rd (because 2019/20 was a poor year - Cork lost to Niederkorn, Dundalk beat Riga on penalties but were easily beaten by Slovan and Qarabag, Pat's lost to Norrkoping and Rovers had Bradley's only good European result in beating Brann, but they lost to Apollon after extra time then).
We're still 33rd at present - though Kosovo in 32nd have extended the gap out to 0.541 and to be honest I don't see us increasing any this year. This was the year the FAI were targetting the LoI to be 30th in Europe, but with results like this week's, we'll be falling a few places by the end of the summer.
0.375 is our score so far - bettered by eight leagues below us. Still too early to read too much into that though. The second legs will tell more - we'll see if we even get a second round, and the Champions League teams are important as they get multiple rounds (and a much bigger chance at group stage games).
Looking only at this year and last year, we're 41st in the rankings - feels like we should be much worse than that to be honest, but again this year has only just begun.
Belarus are second last in the rankings, amazingly - it's only nine years since BATE Borisov got five points in a Champions League group including Roma, Barcelona and Leverkusen. Today's results see Gibraltar jump ahead of them.

2 wins and a draw or 1 win and 2 draws is not beyond the realms of possibility next week tbf, however many teams we get through is another question
And even if they get through, how will Derry do against Copenhagen having lost 2-0 in Gibraltar!
There's still Pat's there too of course; no idea how they'll do.
Hypothetically if every country got the same score as last year - and we're already going to be doing well to get that I think - we'd drop to 37th. I'll put that out as an early random prediction as to where we'll end up.
One other result of note tonight was Borac Banja Luka getting a 96th minute winner at home against Egnatia of Albania - losers play the losers of Vikingur/Rovers. The winners play Jagellonia of Poland.
Despite Shelbourne's win - that was two damned poor results against the opposition - these teams are equivalent to tier 8/9 of the English pyramid (that is where some of the better players have played).
Oh yeah, I don't expect anyone to get through Round two if they make it except for giving Pat's a shot v Vaduz, aside from Rovers of course, they could be bombed out by round 3 or make the groups, so much comes down to next week and of course the draws once they drop down.
I do think any flavour of Shels win is good, first time back in Europe in forever, and against what I assumed would be by far the better of the two Gibraltar clubs. Absolutely no idea what went on with Derry, I decided to save my tenners this week
Given what happened last year, I also think the Rovers result should be considered positive conditionally, I think they'll do it at home, but I know understandably many others are not so confident.

With our form this season I’d be happy to travel being one goal down in the tie. Hopefully we can be competitive but I don’t expect much.
That was an infuriating game against a horrible team full of gowls.
Absolutely hateful bunch. The antics with the "stolen" throw-in from a fake injury in the second half nearly sent the whole of the stadium into the river.
We were much the better side and Coote and Wood made such a difference late on.
Gannon was completely off the boil for whatever reason and hopefully he'll be back to his usual self next week.
Anyway, we won. That's all we can ask for right now.

I also watched Linfield v Stjarnan (perhaps I have flagellation tendencies) Linfield were dreadful, the Rory Gallagher song came to mind, "Brute Force and Ignorance". No consolation considering the travails in the LOI, but the Nordie league is stone age.

Id tend to agree, I’d take a 1 goal defeat in the first leg to keep the tie alive when travelling over. Having said that, with 1 away win all year it’s an even more unlikely task to overcome
