Came on for last 25 minutes of match vs Crystal Palace. His marker (Guehi) beat him to the ball for the second goal. Seemed to be playing as a wingback and then as a right fullback near the end.

Made his first Premier League appearance in a while for Leicester, coming on as a sub in their latest beating. I think that now makes him the Irish player with the most ever Premier League appearances for Leicester, although that isn't a particularly high bar to clear.
Ealing, you've made your point. Cut out the dog and pony show.

Given we're in the Ireland forum talking about the Ireland team I would have said it was fairly clear what Irish meant. If I wanted to include players who played for the north I would have specified that.
On a similar note the team branding on FAI socials is interesting these days. You very rarely see the word Republic in use of late. A quick search on Twitter shows that the last use of "Republic of Ireland" in the text of an FA Ireland or Ireland Football account tweet was last year. Squad announcements are always issued as Ireland. It seems to be a conscious decision and is great to see.

You've already been told to knock it off EG.
I've been down that path, and it'll drive you nuts. Do Callum Robinson's appearances before his declaration for Ireland count as being by an Irish player? Or David McGoldrick? Or Clinton Morrison?
What about players who have changed allegiances from the national side? Do their appearances before changing count as being by an Irish player, even though they're currently lining out for another country?
If you really want to drive yourself demented, consider the scenario where someone played for Ireland at underage level, then appeared in a friendly for another country, and then went back playing for Ireland? Which of their senior club appearances count?
In the end, the only way I could agree on was that, once a player's international alignment is with the national team, then all their appearances count as being Irish. If that changes, then those appearances are invalid.
This actually came up recently while I was researching a stat. Recent U21 call up Jack Moorhouse was named as a substitute for Manchester United against Arsenal and Spurs. If he had come on in either game, would it count as an appearance by an Irish player, given that both games were before his U21 call up, and his only involvement with the national side before that was an U19 training camp? If it does count, then is the last Irish player to appear for United before him Will Keane, who played in an FA Cup game against Shrewsbury in February 2016, while still an English player, or Robbie Brady who made a single appearance for United in the League Cup in September 2012?
Next, we will be counting farts ? !
Don"t worry, Tets, I won't go mad thinking about it! It only came up when I was checking for Republic of Ireland players who might have played more Premier league games for Leicester than McAteer and found that Carey played exactly the same number of times as McAteer has this season, which I thought was a cool coincidence, only to find that McAteer played one game a few seasons ago, before he switched.
So I'm sure McAteer will break the record for EPL appearances by an Irish International soon - although based on the fact that he has only played 390 minutes in those 12 appearances, it's still possible that Carey might still hold the record for most Premier league football played for Leicester by an Irish International
I see Leicester used a 15 year old winger off the bench at the weekend, McAteer not in the matchday squad. Is he injured, or was the 15 year old preferred to him?
He's not injured. Van Nistelrooy has accepted they're toast this season, and is looking at some kids. Possibly he's considering the options in the event of a fire sale, but they also have a couple of pretty good teenagers who they might as well assess now as in games they'll need to win next year.
