Sure he's not injured? the last two times he missed 4 games, it was confirmed as an injury when he was returning. played 8 mins off the bench and then out again. i'd bet it was a recurrence of the same injury.

Van Nistelrooy's quote when they rejected bids from Sunderland for him in Jan/Feb: "Selling Kasey was impossible. He’s a very important part of our survival bid. He’s done great things for us on the wings."

I checked premierinjuries.com and the Leicster Mercury. Both suggested he's available. Of course, he may not yet be 100% after a recent injury.

What he should be considering is his options for a new job. I'd be shocked if Leicester kept him on next season. Current owners seem to have no interest in the club the way his father did.

Think they'll also be hit with a points deduction once back in the championship. Can see Leicester spending some time in the lower leagues.

More a case of RVN having toasted them I'd say. Four points outside the drop zone when he got the job & have just set a new record winless streak with a record goalless streak bolted onto that. Southampton could catch them, they're that bad under him.
McAteer is fit I think, just not making the cut which isn't a great sign of him but again, RVN isn't much of a judge of these things by the looks of it.

Beating the previous record which had lasted all of two months

Seven defeats on the bounce, a win against Spurs, eight defeats on the bounce (and counting). No goals in those eight games as you say

Hard not to think RVN is slightly to blame alright. There's too much at stake to give up on al survival halfway through a season

It was far from healthy when he got there, five year contract to Brendan Rodgers to with grand plans on the field & stadium expansion going through planning. That culminated in Rodgers being given nothing to spend in his final three transfer windows, such a mess was he making of it all & somehow ending up relegated anyway after finally sacking him.

Got back up, manager goes to Chelsea, new guy has them in sixteenth and four points clear, but no, that wouldn't do, so in comes RVN who has been unbelievably terrible, record setting uselessness & Dutch arrogance about it all. There's a DOF in the mix too who has overseen this catastrophe to an extent the fans are flying a little airplane over the stadium soon with a banner asking everyone involved to please leave.

Oh & a pushing 40 Jamie Vardy is still all they really have by way of troubling opposition keepers & no longer does. Its top down calamity with RVN the record setting icing on a relegation they won't be bouncing back up from.

I guess, in summation, if McAteer can get out of there he really should trot away lively. They turned down a Sunderland offer in January for him.

Fair dues to Vardy btw - still their top scorer this season with a vaguely respectable 8.

Obviously it's disastrous for Leicester that he's their top scorer (next is 5). But always nice to see the aul fellas doing ok at the top.

(Eight home games without a goal is another top-flight record, I see)

Not sure what it says about McAteer that he can't get make any impression in this basket case of a season though.

    Whoops!

There's just too much crappiness coming out of them at the moment to keep track of it all - apologies!

McAteer back in the starting team and finally a result for Leicester - a draw away at Brighton. He had a good game, was one of Leicester's best players. Big change from being left out for a kid during the week. RVN seems to have absolutely no idea what he's doing but hopefully McAteer can get a run in the team for the rest of the season now.

I still strongly suspect he was injured even if it wasn’t reported. A few days ago, I went through the vids that the club post of their training the last few weeks and as far as I could see he wasn’t training until this week.

He seems very injury prone so chances are he likely was unavailable for those games rather than dropped from the squad.

Not in the matchday squad against Liverpool today. Once again not clear whether he's injured or dropped, but the general consensus among the Leicester support is that RVN is just picking the team out of a hat at this stage.

Been starting the last few games. Watching today and he's having a solid industrious game. Seems to have matured quite a bit this year

Will hopefully do a bit of damage in the Championship next season, could be one of the better players in the division.

Been watching some highlights and starting to think a move into DM/CM would be a good option for him.

I don't think he'll ever set the world alight as a right winger but he's a busy enough player and could do a job there. He should be starting most games next season so here's hoping. Granted this might just be wishful thinking with the strength in depth we already have on that wing
