    Fair enough really.

so underwhelming its not even funny, its depressing how ****e the Ireland job is not one single outside the box contender.

We could of of come up with a FAI shortlist of Lennon, Keane and Coleman without ever lifting a finger ! I suppose its more money for Hill's commuting expenses !

In other news, Woy Hodgson is available. Pity it isn't 10 or 15 years ago.

Which was reflected in his playing only 64 caps in a 16 year international career.

Which was why he played 111 times for Wales during his 16 year international career, retiring a season after his last cap (Giggs went on playing for Man U for another 7 years after his last cap).
Keane had 60 odd caps for us similar to Giggs, similar time frame minus a bit of time off for misadventures, retired early & didn't trouble himself with friendlies often either, didn't score many goals at all, yet impacted us in a big way, played WC 94 and was huge in getting us to 2002 before firing his nappy at the TV and hitting the airport. So not purely an apps / goals thing maybe.

I think Bale was huge of course in it all but the point remains they did it under Coleman having not previously managed it.

Ampadu wanted to play for Wales, didn't matter who was in charge

Along those lines I heard Garry Monk was interviewed and he has not been mentioned anywhere even the longest bookies long list,no idea if true. Its encouraging to read the above.

Hang on. I pointed out that Coleman had the (massive) advantage of having Bale for Wales, to which you replied that previous managers had Giggs.

I responded by demonstrating that Bale did far more for Wales than Giggs ever did - pretty incontrovertible, I'd say - and you counter by comparing Keane with Giggs?

    How does that work?

Which also ignores that Coleman took over a Wales team in better shape after Toshack/Speed, than those two had before them, when taking over from a succession of duds like Hughes, Gould and Smith.

    Plus there's this guy's contribution: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...-wales-2245679

Meanwhile, Tony Mowbray's illness could put a possible spanner in the works:
"The prognosis is unknown but the club is only confirming that the 60-year-old Teessider will be out of action for between six to eight weeks. However, the reality is that Mowbray is unlikely to make an appearance before the end of the campaign which finishes on May 4."

There is already speculation that Lee Carsley could be offered the job as Birmingham's Interim Manager til the season end. Might be rubbish, of course, but if he were tempted, it would certainly suit The FA to let him do it for a bit.

Chris Coleman out according to numerous reports.

Interestingly, Thierry Henry has been linked to the vacant Canada job.

Surprising that Henry didn't put his hand up for the Irish Job ? !

What the hell is going on here?

Coleman was only floated for pretty much the first time in the last few days. Now he's out already?

Who else is in that we don't know is in that's about to be out?

I have a theory that Colemans name was thrown out there knowing the reaction it would cause and force the board into giving more money for Carsley.... stranger things have happened.

Anthony Hudson is another who won't be getting it.

Former USA assistant manager now in charge in Qatar. That'd be left field I guess, so maybe they are looking out there. But now it just feels a bit desperate.
