Can we afford Vinny Perth?
Was wondering if he was related to John Aloisi, turns out they're brothers
Can we afford Vinny Perth?
Muscat is the worst candidate I've heard yet, well below Lennon and Bruce.
ruud van nistelrooy
Any objections to him?
It was bundled with Greece alright. Still, season tickets are up for renewal now - there were 23k this year, so half of the 46k sales, and you'd imagine uptake will be less now. Especially as we only have friendlies until September, and the Nations League could give us something as exciting as Czech Republic, Iceland and Kazakhstan (or of course England, Norway and Greece)
That's impressive in fairness!
We need to steer well clear of the likes of Lennon, Bruce, Benitez and Allardyce.
Roy Keane would generate some buzz (a tick for the FAI) but we know it would all end in tears so not worth the hassle.
The FAI have lots of time so they need to get this right. Let’s look beyond the Irish & UK markets as well.
Kenny & Andrews should have been kicked out of the door 2 years ago. Completely out of their depth from the very beginning. Ken Early and Co have a lot to answer for.
must have missed ken early getting on the FAI board
100% the media including ken early have disgraced themselves. I actually this Dan McDonnell ( indo) was worse.
Also can we please sack Hill? Hasn't moved to Ireland, no sponcer. Has lost 500k because they didn't draw it down!! and now 6.5 million state funds are been withheld
What's not to like
So that's a "neigh" from you, is it?
Well, we just got rid of a donkey so I suppose a horse would be an improvement of sorts.
He's out of our league. Did a good job with PSV and he'll find himself a good job in time.
From Miguel Delaney's weekly newsletter today (my bold):
Ireland may have to get creative in manager search
There was once a point when the Irish national team job was quite an attractive one, principally because it was one of the better-paying ones relative to international football. Not so any more. The word is already that Ireland are going to have to be creative in replacing Stephen Kenny. Lee Carsley, the coach virtually everyone in the football structure wants to appoint, isn’t currently keen and would like to see out the England under-21 job in view of what might be next. Damien Duff, a home favourite, doesn’t yet want it and it is probably too early in his career. A lot of the usual names have been mentioned, such as Steve Bruce and Sam Allardyce, but the insistence remains that Ireland will seek a young progressive profile. The argument is that, just because Kenny didn’t work out, it didn’t mean the idea was wrong. The market may well test the strength of that stance. They may have to get creative.
