    Waterford (H)

The last home game of the season. I was in attendance the day Kerry League knocked Waterford United out of the League Cup. John Delaney was in attendance as well.
The best hope really is that Waterford send out a weakened team with both eyes on the playoffs. The second half of the season has been a disappointment defensively. At least the problem is glaringly obvious that they need to fix. So much experienced gained over the course of the season but the same old defensive failings. Cobh at home and Wexford away in August was the moment to deliver wins and they slipped away.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.

The draw was a positive result. Waterford are the highest placed team that Kerry have taken a point from. Small steps. Disappointing not to have a home league win over the course of the season. Cobh in Mounthawk Park in early August was the win that got away.
