Hamburg - German TV money but a strong side
Everton - English TV Money and a team we'd 'know', we'd have a crack off them but having to deal with Everton Irish at the cross
PAOK - A pain in the whole to get to, won't give us TV money, won't be a name the general public will reognise, though not in their season yet anyone bar this shower.
Auxerre - French TV Money, cheap to get to, I think we'd have a shot (no better than Nantes anyway)
Prague - the 'fun' trip but from TV, full house, getting through point of view, difficult
Cork City: Making 'Dream Team' seem realistic since 2007.

They were called PAOK Salonika or something but these guys are listed as PAOK FC. Anyone know?
They play in Thessaloniki which is in Northern Greece on the Aegean seas.
Salonika could be the anglicised form of Thessaloniki?

After thinking about it, Hamburg or Auxerre would be the best draws for us.

We would have a shot at getting a result, good TV money, easy to get to both. A step up in class again, but we could be confident of doing ourselves proud.

Don't want the hassle of local "Evertonians" disgracing our city,
Greeks have the highest rating, Slavia are a class act.

I think they finished either 2nd or 3rd in the Czech Republic last year. They went out of the CL qualifiers mid-week. That's all I know bout them.

I don't know lads. Its going to be tough. I know Sparta Prague have made the CL group stages before but what about Slavia. I must research their Euro record. It's going to be tough going by their coefficient.

AFAIK they are a homeless club in dire financial trouble - who lodged a complaint with uefa cause they lost their seeding in the cl qualifiers to make room for Liverpool.....

    very tricky

Tricky tie i reckon. Skillfull team. Hopefull they'll underestimate us though. Czech airlines fly to prague from cork. Praszky beer are giving away free flights too if you buy a six pack down the offy. Next door offys anyway. Have to do a bloody tiebreaker though.

Home and away losses against a Belgian team. All the draws are tough but football wise this one's the best

Cork City to play Slavia Prague

Damien Richardson's Cork City have drawn Czech side Slavia Prague in the UEFA Cup first round in today’s draw in Monaco.

City will play the away leg first on September 15 before taking the Czech’s back to Turner’s Cross on September 29.

The Slavia home leg must be played during daylight hours as the floodlights in the cross arent up to 1st round proper standards

I hate daytime games tbh, theres always a more subdued atmosphere no matter how big a game it is,hands up those who've been to a derry noon kick-off on a sunday

I think its time we bucked the trend with this 1
