If we don't win the league this season, and personally I think we are in great danger of not winning it, it will be a crushing blow to this club and fans.

I'll be so depressed that it wouldn't matter to me who wins it, I just don't give a sh*t for any other club.

I picked this season to try and not miss a league game home and away because i thought we were the best team in the league ( i still do) and that this will be our year, its amazing really every one at the start of the season said that who ever finished above shelbourne would win the league. Then Derry arrived on the scene.

Next season, if we were not to win the league this year i dont think i could have the heart to go to places like bray and ucd to be honest. This should be our year and if we are to have a bad spell i hope its over the next couple of games while its in the uefa and fai cups.

    Christ lads...

we lose to the team in second place in the eircom league, are still three points ahead and already people are waving the white flags... wtf like?

that was one game, and one game only, its up to rico and the boys to pick it up for harps and get another three points
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

A key part in City's season was always going to be how we reacted to our second loss in the league.

It's happened now and its up to the management and players to deal with it. We have to play all the teams once, we're 3 points ahead, we're in a great position.

It would have been great to get a result on Friday but we didn't and every season has its ups and downs.

I think we are the best team in the league and if we play to our potential for the rest of the we will win the league

I don't think anyone is waving a white flag.
The question was about IF City do not win the league.
I personally think we are in a little trouble, purely becaused we are not scoring enough goals lately. Thats hardly akin to surrender, is it?

    Flying

We are flying at the minute!
They could take another 8 points of us and we
    would still stay up!
We have a mangager used to Pressure at both ends of the table
    invaluable!
Unlike Rico who will probably explode at this rate!
I dont think Cork will win the league for 3 reasons
1 They looked dead on there feet against Derry
2 They celebrated like they won the league against Shels
(To early they feel that was the clincher
and there is stll a long way to go)
3 Rico cant stand pressure and the Rico
    curse will strike always does!

FFS lads this league will be won by a bounce of a ball, a bit of luck will either sink us or give us a party like no other in November.
That said, we are in a great position to win, IMO. Not only are we clear of all other serious contenders, but on their form to date Derry, our only remaining threat, is likely to drop more points than us from here on in.
So, could you take this poll a bit less serious, like, and relax a bit. Sure 'tis only a bit of fun, it will suss some board members' opinions about other clubs, and it will pass the time until Thursday.
By the way, would you prefer a poll "Who do you want to come second behind City"? If I posted that, I would be murdered fer putting a jinx on the team. At least, this poll causes no problems in that department.
Anyways, if City do not win this season, there is one club that would make me puke if they raised the trophy (the Tolka Tossers). Of all the rest, I would mind least if Derry City won it, partly because their approach to the game is one I like, but mostly because I think their fans are a decent bunch.
So come on mods, get this poll up and running like.

Has to be Derry. I wouldn't want any of the other teams to win it.

Lads. I know this was a very bad defeat, but please don't be saying about City not winning the league. I think we will win it. Every team has to lose at some stage. City have Finn Harps away next in the league. It will be a tough enough game, but City should win. We have the F.A.I Cup to think about 1st which is also against Finn Harps this night week at the X. The next 2 weeks are going to go a long way to sorting out Citys season COME ON CITY!

We will win it. I have no doubt. But if not us, then Derry, as I've said since the start of the season.

thought id bring some optimism to this thread, whos up for winning the league in tolka on the 2nd last day? I know i am!!

I think we will win the league even after last friday because we ARE the most consistent team in the league, have an unbelievable away record and when the lads play to the best of their ability they play the best football in the league,a good win on thursday and i think they'l realise this and it could carry us to the title,1 defeat doesnt make us a bad team overnight

I think people have got the wrong idea about this thread.

I don't think FPB was saying that City would not win the league, he is merely asking the question about which other team would City fans like to see winning it if we don't.
Thats hardly the same thing as saying we are not going to win the league, is it?

If City were not to win (I still think we will though) then Derry.
I've been saying that since day one.
