Reality is.. they've got players from Barcelona.. we've got players from Wrexham

We're going to get better as some of them get older, but Cullen, Ogbene, Mc Clean, forget it.. Browne, Doherty.. not going to be part of the future

But they're giving it a rattle

Good first half overall, disappointed to have conceded. Think it’s probably a fair reflection at 1-1. They’ve got a bit lucky with a few decisions. The van Dijk free kick was very lucky, Idah was more fouled than guilty of fouling.

I’d be inclined to replace Egan with Omobamidele. Malen’s pace is scary and they’ve had two times where he’s been able to exploit it. His finishing is and always has been his weakness though. So never really worried too much with his too shots.

I’d also be inclined to do Browne for probably Molumby (maybe Smallbone?) after about 55.

Idah has caused Van Dijk real problems - but has to have confidence to shoot himself. Ogbene the same for Ake and Blind. McClean has Demphris in his pocket. Doherty has looked good. And we’ve looked dangerous from set pieces against a tall Dutch side.

Gakpo is the real fear for me. There’s a level of intelligence there in his movement and passing…

Thought Idah's not been great tbh, goal aside. Two chances to have a bang at and he took a heavy touch and too much time both times. Him and Ogbene not getting a huge amount of change and you'd see Connolly or Armstrong on by the hour I'd say.

McClean putting in some great balls, Browne doing really well (a coincidence that he's moved to a more natural position?)

Both of us look dodgy at the back, but overall we deserve to be level at halftime here and that's a nice change

Id worry they cant keep up this intensity, especially as the Dutch are looking so good in midfield. De Jong has roasted us a few times. But their backline and keeper aren't looking steady either.

If only Ferguson was on the field...
Mcclean at fault for the goal needs to see that run and cover it with Duffy dropped deep and at fault for chance gavin saved with his foot

Don't hang your hat on Poland doing anything of note in that group, they are poor.

On this game I think Cullen has done well, a player of influence, easily finds the space to receive and deliver the ball, 'am surprised they haven't got closer to him.

Duffy at fault twice over there, keeping Dumfries onside and letting Weghorst ghost in. 55 minutes to a state of "Now what?"

Duffy keeping Dumfries onside by hanging a yard further back than the rest of the defence.

Again, worth bearing in mind we have a premier league starting centre back on the bench who has played regularly at both right and left back for his club. I’m done with Kenny. Please make it stop

Is that the second time Duffy has played a player onside by being a metre behind the back line?

We spent the last ten minutes giving the ball straight back to the Dutch.

This has the bang of the 5-1 against Denmark now.. though the Dutch will probably score one more and call it a night.. give Armstrong a run, and make it a nice round 20 debuts before getting the bullet next week

Duffy crap, Egan has no pace and he made regularly errors for Sheff United over the last year. Need big Andy back playing regularly for his club, O Shea partnering with Collins. McClean is a running joke. Cullen is so average it is not even funny. Idah is facilitating a nice game of ping pong, everything that goes up to him just comes straight back. Ogbene so limited, minimal composure and just has not improved his decision making.

At least make it interesting Kenny, lash on Ebosele, Connolly and Armstrong. Nothing to lose now

Typically managers make either a tactical or personal change by now given the game development. A penny for Kenny’s thoughts. Back to the league of Ireland for you sir
