    Post Richardson expecting tight affair

    Richardson expecting tight affair

Cork City manager Damien Richardson is expecting a tight and tactical affair in Thursday night’s big Uefa Cup clash with Swedish side Djurgarden at Turners Cross.

Richardson’s side claimed a vital away goal in Stockholm two weeks ago, but Djurgarden hit back to level late on and leave the tie perched on a knife edge going into this week’s second leg.

"Cork is not an obstacle for us. We have to, and are proceeding to the next round; there is no doubt about it! We, Djurgården, are establishing ourselves in the European cups. And with that in mind, we can’t be beaten in the qualifying rounds against some team from Ireland."-Markus Johannesson, djurgarden captain

I can't wait now. I have my ticket since Monday. Anyone know if there are still tickets available - a friend of mine decided at the last minute he wants to go.

    C'mon (the other) City!

I got the extra one at 11:15 this morning. They only had adult tickets left, but I got the impression there might still be a few hanging around for anyone that hasn't got one yet. I asked the guy if it would be a sell out, and he said "hopefully" (rather than "ya, definately, boy!")

To me those words from the captain don't show true confidence at all, it's more a matter of whistling past the graveyard. The fact that he feels he has to say it show's we've gotten to him
I'm gonna take a blow torch to everyone who writes "any info on......." on the desks in the ucc library.

What else would you expect him to say?
That he thinks his team will be beaten?
Its all only wind. They know exactly what they have to do tonight, their is no under-estimation going on and the element of surprise is long gone.

I reckon they will win this game well, to be honest, we are in poor form at the moment, and they will be too good for us.

Has it been p!ssing rain in the City like it has out here in West Cork? I hope it doesn't rain tonight. Especially if I get stuck in the St Annes end. Might have to get there early to get a seat in one of the covered stands.

Patsh, my boy, that post probably erased every single jinx that ever wafted over this fixture.
Feel free, and you have my personal invitation, to post like this before every game from now until November. We need this voodoo treatment to protect us from bad luck.

    .
I am NEVER confident about us going into games.
We have had far too many second places, near misses and what not since the club was founded.
I only truely believe when the ref has blown the final whistle!

God I had a terrible headache from the tension last night, I kept thinking they would get a poxy goal near the end.
I had to get rid of the headache by having several pints of Heineken, just to calm the nerves, like!
