To be fair (as Im sure you are aware) there aren't that many past examples of Hibs playing at Hampden however perhaps the most recent one being 9th April 2005, your semi final versus Dundee Utd, saw the massive crowd of 27k at Hampden? Don't tell me, Dundee Utd didn't sell 23k of their allocation.

Without this desending in to a load of ****** - are you telling me you cannot tell if someone is angry, a reasoned debater, abusive, impartial etc..etc... because they have typed it?? of course you can, what a silly comment.

Ok ok you didn't say it was their 'home' ground. I paraphrased, However you implied that they had some advantage by using murrayfield.. I disagree as I cannot see where they get this advantage from.

As I've already said, if the ground is in poor nick, then I'd agree with the SF being played at Hampden (1) I don't know if it is in poor shape or will be before the game (2) Have you seen Hampden park lately? Otherwise it would just make sense for the game to be played at a local ground, with a great capacity, with a pitch that is as good as the one in Glasgow (if thats the case).

What do you think the crowd will be at Hampden - capacity 52k??

Perhaps flights are cheaper to Glasgow than Edinburgh from Dublin that weekend..............

Yeah, the bus shelter down Tyncastle way would suit it fine. But judging by Dundees crowds this year that'd still be too big

From the UEFA Country Rankings http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/...crank2006.html
I see that the coefficient points that Rangers earned with their plod through Europe has kept Scotland just ahead of Belgium in 10th place by the slimmest of margins. Clouds do have a silver lining.

As both Embra teams have stadia which hold less than 20,000 the extra capacity should not be an issue and all their "real fans" rather than bandwagon jumpers could be accomodated in the smaller venue if they wish.
As regards the SFA being control freaks, they own half of Hampden and they need a return on their capital investment. After all co-owners Queen's Park never stuff the venue.

it rather a small minded view-point imo. if that was the case, then the fai should just have opted for tolka for the fai cup final.

if the game was in murrayfield, there would be 32k roughly there supporting either team - double what they would get in a good home crowd for each club, in their home city. whilst (like the fai cup final) most would treat it as a one off, a lot wouldn't. it could have allowed both clubs to win over many more future die hards etc.

though i think you are right about your second point, its about how much money the sfa get, and who cares if it inconviniances everybody travelling from edinburgh.

Another good win for celtic, despite a below par performance.

First half hour was all Hibs, Sproule in particular causing problems. Great freekick to go 1-0 up, from Riordan.

After that, whilst I wouldn't say Celtic dominated they certainly had all the significant play. I don't recall Boruc really having to make a save, whilst the hibs keeper (particularly the one who came on as a sub) made numerous important saves including the penalty save.

Sproule, died out after that first 30 mins, whether that was through poor service or just that Wilson got better Im not sure but it was important.

Celtic missed Hartson I thought, whilst Maloney had a very good game always causing problems when on the ball.

Mcmanus is now on 7 goals pretty decent for a centre half.

Celtic are in the CIS next week whils Hearts play Rangers - that result could be significant as to when the league flag comes back to Celtic Park

PP, don't see you on the huddleboards these days, where you frequenting??

Has anyone seen many of his games? Has he been any good for them?

    Hello Junior

I occasionally lurk on the Huddleboard these days; too many eejits on there for me to bother posting. I post on the Celtic newsgroup these days rather than any of the messageboards.

I still loiter without intent on this board far too often for comfort...

Terrible in his opening game (the Clyde match but then again so was everyone else) alot better since then. Was impressed against Aberdeen how when ever the younger players had no real forward options and they gave the ball to Keane as an easy way out, he simply returned the ball to them forcing players to take a bit of responsibility rather then just look to him. gets forward alot but he has to otherwise he and Lennon would simply be getting in each others ways.

No because Scotland is a genuine footballing supporting nation.
Ireland on the other hand is populated by event junkies and bandwagon jumpers , which is why your brilliantly successful club doesn't get 6,000 sell out crowds for all your home games!

believe me there are just as many bandwagon jumpers over here as well, maybe not as extreme as ireland, but you would easily find an extra 15,000 of them to fill murrayfie;d, and its up to the clubs after that to keep them on the wagon.

    Neil Lennon

I had the misfortune of being in his company one night whilst attending my cousins stag night in Leicester... This really sums him up...

    http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...ambasts+Lennon

One of the reasons, why I am so passionate about Eircom League and local soccer is because of him... I can't watch football when guys like that are being paid so much.

I thought Keane was playing again with his slippers on and still stood out. Celtic could do with him in the Champions League.
