Could the impossible happen? Celtic held at home by Dundee. Gap closes to two points. Aberdeen will miss Rooney though.

Gap is four points - five if you count Celtic's huge goal difference advantage.

Too big to catch up I'd say - Celtic are scoring far more, while Aberdeen are ekeing out the wins. You'd imagine the latter approach is more likely to lead to a slip up.

You deem this to be an actual approach ? Surely more a case of that being their natural margin in games. Slightly better most outings. I'd wager if they were capable of being three up after an hour every week, they would chose that.

Could be wrong but I'd say you might have taken him too literally there Crafty!

Brilliant win for Aberdeen last night, turning a 1-0 deficit with less than twenty minutes left into a 2-1 win away to Partick. Only a point in it now with Celtic having a game in hand.

I kind of want Celtic to win ten-in-a-row though just to annoy the other crowd.

Celtic have been playing terrible of late, so don't be surprised if the Sheep do it.

Approach is the wrong word alright. But you know what I mean.

Celtic have been pish of late, Ronnie is the fall guy and rightly so. Far too defensive in the main.

So... we're allowed mention Rangers on here again

I thought there was a touch of irony last night when one of the SSN presenters said "Up in Scotland, Rangers celebrate as Celtic are left frustrated again", or something like that. I think I'd prefer my team to have moved another point closer a 5th SPL in-a-row rather than even consider celebrating needing two attempts to get out of the 2nd tier.

I must admit though, I find the whole 'new club' banter grating at this stage. Even if it is technically true.

Does the new Rangers entity hold the honours list the previous one did or not ? I don't pay huge attention to them to be honest, but we have had so many incarnations of Limerick FC even in my lifetime, but in our minds eye its the same club and hard to argue otherwise.

That's the prerogative of supporters, regardless of how many incarnations.

Generally the club retains their honours, which in Limerick's case the list could probably fit on a stamp.

The Rangers fans will say yes, the Celtic fans will say no. Technically speaking I suppose they shouldn't but, like Geysir says, it's up to themselves. Everybody knows they're still the same shower they always were so why bother splitting hairs, just to annoy them obviously but it's getting very old very fast I think.

There was also an argument that the (old ) Rangers be stripped of those tainted SPL titles that they won during their tax fraudulent, financial doping years. But in football, not even a proven case of bribery of the ref can alter a result.

Will Ronnie Deila keep his job? I doubt it. The CEO and board are smart enough to know he was just good enough to beat Aberdeen & co but that next year will be tougher. Need some better players too.

Deila keeps winning leagues with Celtic but has been poor in Europe. Is it just me or is that kind of similar to the job Guardiola is doing with Bayern?

Be hard to look good canning a guy who just delivered a league title but if a few games in next season they are lagging behind a resurgent blue half of town, he might as well go keys, wallet, phone, passport, airport on it.

You could ask the same of Derry, Galway and Cork fans.

There's a good friend of mine whose a Derry fan. He didn't quite get the irony of his Facebook post on Rangers celebrations the other day while supporting a club he only a few weeks earlier lauded a record over Finn Harps before our derby game.

Fans of the clubs will always see it as the same club. Rivals will always claim different. People who don't give a sh!t will simply, well, not give a sh!t.

Well the rights to the Trade Mark RANGERS were assigned from The Rangers Football Club plc to Sevco Scotland Limited to Sportsdirect.com Retail Limited and finally to The Rangers Football Club Limited, the current trading company, so legally it is probably correct to say that the chain of title is complete. What is a club after all but a name, a stadium and even the jersey worn. People are not bothered about who owns a club, until relegation looms or they change to change the name (Hull City to Hull) or the club colours (Cardiff from blue to red).

At the end of the day they're back and let battle recommence...

I watched a lot of soccer today.
    Leicester v West Ham
    Atletico v Granada
Arsenal v Palace (though I switched that off to watch snooker)
    Barca v Valencia...

As well as Celtic v Rangers. And by God was that a turgid game of football. Despite all the apparent bite that you would have expected in an Old Firm clash, it was so poor and lacking in anything that would come close to redemption.
Even the penalty shootout was meh. Though it was nice to see Scott Brown miss it.

Celtic are woeful and have been for a while now. That Rangers side showed a some gut and ability where Celtic looked drained and out of ideas and it doesn't bode well for 2016/17.

One things for certain, Deila will be given his P45 in May.

Scott Brown's was just saved wasn't it? It was a real mixture of some very good penalties and some really bad ones. Celtic couldn't get their noses in front at any stage, even in the shoot-out when they had two very good opportunities after Rangers misses. That was some miss from the Manchester City loanee and what an effort from Griffiths from the free kick. Overall Rangers passed the ball better though and Celtic certainly didn't look like a team that have played the last four years at a higher level. It might be a (very well disguised) blessing for Celtic though in the long run, they know they'll need to up their game significantly now, starting with a better/more suitable manager.

That's a very optimistic way of looking at it.
Rangers look like they are battle hardened Celtic just look devoid of joy or any will to go on.

It's hard to give the shootout too much credit after enduring that extra time before it. I was possibly just jaded. Lee Griffith's peno was great. Looked like he'd miss with his demeanour when he stepped up.

And you're right re Brown, I was confusing his oeno with Rogic's, I just remember revelling in his misery at that moment.
