Celtic have posted their financial results with debt only standing at £0.5million, which is fantastic considering how little European football we've had lately. Now is the time to invest and bring that title home.

Work on Aberdeen FC's new £38m stadium could begin early next year after the preferred contractor was named.

Councillors earlier approved the stadium, capable of holding about 21,000 fans, at Loirston Loch in the south of Aberdeen.

Barr Construction - which has built many stadiums - has been named as the preferred contractor.

It is hoped the stadium - which is planned to be an iconic landmark - could be ready for the 2013/14 season.

In March, Scottish ministers decided against calling in the proposals.

Aberdeen FC intends to sell its current home at Pittodrie for housing.

The new stadium project was subject to 140 objections from local communities and groups concerned about the environmental impact of the stadium.

A shame. Although Pittodrie is a kip it has a great vista and location.

Some stands of it are, some stands are quite decent. Good atmosphere in it and plenty of pubs about it. Shame as you say, tis modern football though. This stadium won't have a soul about it at all, like St Mirren's new one. Won't have any pubs, or anything at all for that matter, around it either, it's in the middle of nowhere.

BTW, Spurs to beat Hearts tonight is 4/6. That's like printing money!

This is Spurs' first competitive game of the season, after the season opener against Everton was postponed. Hearts have played six games already this season, including two in Europe and beat Aberdeen at home 3-0 at the weekend. Redknapp has already stated that they're short players in central midfield. I still expect them to get a result, but it won't be as cut and dried as "printing money"
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

I really think it is, they're strong all over. Okay couple of central midfielders, but what about the rest of them compared to Hearts? Printing money, trust me.

Anyone watch the Maribor - Rangers game? Any good? I made the mistake of drinking an energy drink at night and I see Setanta are showing the match again after midnight. Just wondering if it's worth watching seeing as I'll be up.

The Kilmarnock-Hibs match at the weekend was very enjoyable to watch. Both teams try to play the passing game. Hibs really lack some steel, and I feel sorry for O'Connor having to carry the team. James Dayton ripped Hibs up at times.

    I'm in the money.........

Celtic beat them 3-0 the last time we played there, I knew Spurs would hammer them. Hearts pumped at home, Rangers beaten by Maribor with one win in twenty fecking six games in Europe and Celtic draw at home to Sion. SPL on a downward spiral me thinks.

Celtic fury at link to BNP youth

    http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scot...BNP-youth.html

OUTRAGED Celtic fans vented their fury last night after a teen BNP chief was pictured posing with top figures at the club.

One fan, called Robert Emmet, said: "Ban the **** from Parkhead publicly and immediately."
Another wrote: "How can you support Celtic given the history and ethos of our club? The fact Celtic was built by immigrants must make them (the BNP) despise our club.
"Does the BNP care where the immigrants come from, do they differ from Irish to Polish to Asian? I doubt it very much."

King 0kev added: "How can someone, raised as a Celtic supporter knowing our history, attach himself to a load of right-wing fundamentalists who want to blame immigrants for everything."

I've often used a figure of speech "confused as an Asian skinhead" ...that's about the closest I've seen to it's personification. Well him and this guy ...
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"

You know the English Defence League? There's a Scottish version (SDL) and one of their leaders is an Asian (descent anway) who wants no more immigration from Asia

Can't see your pic in work so sorry if it's of him!

Admitted assault, but not sectarianism. Celtic wanted him charged for both. The sectarinism couldn't be proven (despite a Hearts steward as their main witness). If prosecutors had just charged him for the assualt alone, he'd have been done

Still think the court should have made an example of him after all the abuse & threats lennon received last season the rest of the die hard loonys out there may be thinking they are above the law now ??

You can blame him for the idiocy of the justice system.

You can't make an example of someone because of what others have done or may do. You have to deal with the person's offence(s) only.

    Shaun Maloney gone again.

Hibs4ever, what has gone wrong at Easter Road?
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
