That's ridiculous. Surely a subscription based deal (which the SPL have effectively bet its future on) would give them a free enough reign to maximise ratings.

If you recall though The TV deal had to be agreed by all the SPL clubs (Celtic & Rangers wanted to agree their own packages but were unable to unless they broke away from the SPL). I'd imagine this was one of the clauses that all grounds got an airing. It just happens to suit Celtic & Rangers fans that its always their away games.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

I think it may also be to protect the clubs as too many of their home games on TV would eat into attendances. Or is it to suit the Old Firm ensuring that only OFs can be shown from home protecting their attendances? Don't remember but I think it is something along those lines.

Actually there was a period where the other 10 teams in the SPL had handed in their notice of resignation from the SPL over the OF's demands over TV money.

I assumed that as the reason as well PS but surely then the more logical course of action would't be to limit the number of times they are at a ground but instead the number of games shown per weekend (which I assume is already in place). If they want it to succeed surely they know that the best way to do this is to rely on the per weekend limit as this will mean he best/most relevant games are broadcast live.

What about that rubbish last night lads? The worst Scottish semi attendance ever. Can't beleive these team were in it. Old Firm, Hibs and Aberdeen would have easily sold out asemi final, the other clubs could well have done the same. Pars and Livi fans should be ashamed of themselves

I wouldn't blame Livy too much but you just wait and see how many tickets the Pars demand for the final if they play Celtic.

AS, they only ever show one game a week. Whether that is the limit or not I couldn't tell you.

This petition has been going on for a few days now, we have gone through all the channels for this, and still getting nowhere. Our SC flag has a tricolour on it so I expected that to be a problem. But some of the other bans are ridiculous. The Hibs fans website www.hibeesbounce.com have a HUGE flag with their name and a Gold Harp in the middle, the people at Ibrox won't allow it because they say its "advertising" the website.

With all the Union Jacks and Northern Ireland flags they bring to the away end at Easter Road this is a joke, we'll just have to make do with our scarfs in the air.

Feel free to sign the petition against this madness everyone

Alright lads, you know where this will inevitably lead so we should probably skim over the Hibs' flag ban issue.

It actually was a post on the Hibs ban issue. They allow flags like the above and ban Hibs flags because they're green.

    WHAT??

    Where exactly is it going??

Its just a discussion about why home fans are allowed flags and away fans aren't. REALLY can't see this developing in anything bad

Just to end this discussion then, we have won our petition and are now allowed to bring our flags to Ibrox.

Other results this weekend hopefully will shake them out of any complacency as there was no real passion from either the players or crowd.
A big improvement is called for against Motherwell & Falkirk.

Though yesterday puts them out of the title race, good to see Hibs were allowed to take their flags to 'Castle G.'. It just shows the relative paranoia of the homesters, especially given Hibs's 'green' credentials just extends to their colour scheme! Good luck anyway next Saturday.

i was brought along to parkhead on saturday as weel, and i have to say this celtic team (on the day) was terrible. to put all the blame on the defence would be quite easy, the amount of possession given away needlessly by lennon and maloney was unrealy (petrov was better, but still nothing special). and in fairness to varga, he did come up with a couple of excellent last ditch tackles.

celtic got three very soft goals (non existant marking for two headers, and a massive deflection).

chance for chance dundee united had probably 7 or 8 good chances to celtics 4 maybe 5. however celtic had three good shouts for penalties, which didn't help any paronia out there!!

Roy Keane ducked off to the toilet late on in Saturday’s Bank of Scotland Premierleague clash with Dundee United – just as manager Gordon Strachan was preparing to introduce him in an attempt to preserve a 3-1 lead.

The Corkman, out of action for a week with a hamstring strain, was deemed fit enough for a place on the bench against the Tangerines.

And, with his side 3-1 up with ten minutes remaining, Strachan was ready to send Keane on to add more defensive solidity to his side.

But by the time Keane’s call of nature had been answered, Celtic had conceded one goal – and the underdogs plundered another before the finish to take a point back to Perthshire.

Said Strachan: “The first time we were going to put Roy on he disappeared to the toilet somewhere and then we had to think about it again. We had one plan at 3-1 but another one at 3-2. By the time we spoke to Roy about it the other one went in.

“It was going to be a shutting up job at 3-1, but at 3-3 I decided we had to keep all of our attackers on.

"It’s happened before. It’s not Roy’s fault. I felt a bit sorry for him, but he has taken it well.” ((very decent of the manager If I was the manager I'd be the one who would need to take it well))
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

i think strachan is covering his own back here. i've not that much interest in celtic, but was brought along to the match, and was hoping for keane to be brought on.

he stood stripped and standing at the dugout for a couple of minutes before dundee united's second goal, and then for the 4/5 minutes before the third, and then put his tracksuit back on. he was definately there ready to come on, and on a number of occasions the ball went out of play - i looked over expecting to see the change made. (and each time roy was standing there stripped).

now itprobably did happen, but there definately was time to bring him on before each goal, and they certainly needed him on - neil lennon was awful - gave the ball away all afternoon..
