    Swiss striker suffers injury blow

Switzerland international forward Marco Streller looks set to miss his side’s remaining four World Cup qualifiers after picking up a knee injury in training.

The Stuttgart star was a key member of Kobi Kuhn’s side in the qualifiers for Euro 2004, but missed the finals after breaking his leg early last year.

He returned from a year on the sidelines towards the end of last season, and was recalled to the Swiss squad for the World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands earlier in the summer.

However, the 23-year-old looks set to be ruled out of the Group Four run-in after sustaining knee ligament damage in training for his club.

He has been handed a six-week recovery timeframe, leaving him definitely out of September’s qualifiers against Cyprus and Israel and a major doubt for the final group games against France and Ireland in early October.

    Good news for Ireland?
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

The last thing we want is an Israel win so I'm not so sure. A Swiss win is OK because we can still finish ahead of them by beating them and matching their result against France. An Isael win means anything less than a draw for us against france and we're ***ed.

oh dear. well I cant really say that Israel are going to lose because the country is riding on a wave at the moment like we were 15 odd years ago.

Whats the odds online, they are usually right about these type of games.
