Post of the Month July/August Nominations

Welcome to the all new POTM competition hosted by Sligoman and myself
The competition will work as follows:

    >From the 8th to the end of each month you may post your nominations in this thread
    >During the 1st-7th of the next month the top message in this thread will become a poll in which you can vote for your favourite nomination
    >On the 8th of the next month the winner will be announced on this thread and be entered into the Post of the Year competition whcih will run after the December winner is announced

    The rules are as follows:

    1. Each user may make as many nominations as they want
    2. Nominations must take the form of the nominees name as a hyperlink to the thread of the post followed by a quote of the post
    3. You cannot nominate a post that has already been nominated as it is already in the vote
    4. Nominations must be of a post made between the 1st and the end of the month. The nomination must be submitted between the 8th and the end of the month
    5. Discuss nominations in the POTM Discussion thread-not in this thead; any dicussion posts, nominations not meeting the set format or double nominations will have to be delted to prevent clutter
6.You may vote between 1st-7th of the following month
7.You can nominate anybody except yourself

You may start nominating August Posts now....everyone should get the hang of it soon and hopefully it'll run well

EDIT: As there hasn't been a POTM competition for a while, we will be accepting posts from July aswell. So if you want to nominate a July post then put it in this thread

Being the greedy git that I am, I also nominate TerryPhelan for this well-crafted post.

At the very least, adopting a generally resigned attitude towards Ireland's chance of success (while obviously cheering them on at the top of my voice) means you either end up proven delightfully wrong or else you were correct. Even with all this in mind, I just cannot see us beating France. Scratch that, actually. I cannot see us not losing to France.

Two goals in the 90th shatter Shelbourne's season into tiny fun size pieces

So then - what's the excuse tonight?
