Shelbourne and UCD go head-to-head in the eircom League Cup semi-final tonight at Tolka Park with silverware in both club’s sights.

With a possible Setanta Cup place up for grabs to the winner of the competition, the League Cup is more valuable than last season, though both sides insist the fact the game is a semi-final is all the motivation they need.

    Preview: Shelbourne vs UCD

Shelbourne and UCD meet at Tolka Park on Monday night in the semi-final of the League Cup. The competition represents Shelbourne's last chance for silverware this season while UCD have gotten this far without treating the competition too seriously.

Shels have twice escaped with draws while trailing to the College earlier in the season. The last three meetings between the clubs have ended in draws but Monday will have to produce a winner on the night.

Hey...Students look to teach Shels a lesson - 'cos we're students...and we go to lectures and have lessons...and teaching someone a lesson means beating them! Very funny - never heard that one before!!!

God, I hate lazy headline writers.

It's the most over used headline of all time. If they win it will be students teach Shels a lesson too.

"Students Taught a Lesson" is not used quite as much as "Shels Shocked" which I think has appeared at least ten times a season in the 25 years I've been following Shels.
And fair play to College for their victory last night.

And there's usually a Saints and Scholars reference around at least one of the UCD v Pats games.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
