Dundalk are a joke. If they can't guarantee a venue for the Cup matchg TG4 should pull the plug on live tv coverage.
The league really has to get tougher on clubs starting projects without necessary finances to complete.
Drogs await cup venue decision
Drogheda United should find out today if their FAI Cup clash with Dundalk will go ahead as planned at Oriel Park.
Dundalk are in a race against time to lay their new artificial pitch for the clash and have been told that the tie will be switched to Drogheda’s United Park ground if it is not ready for training this week.

Well what a load of misinformed rubbish this is! The pitch was completed today actually. All that needs to be done is the installation of dugouts, a retractable tunnel and the goalposts. However only three sides of the ground are expected to be open for the match, the Carrick Road end will be closed probably due to rubble having not yet been removed. Press conference at Oriel Park tomorrow at 12.30pm. Drogheda Utd will be able to train tomorrow on the pitch no problem and Dundalk tomorrow night. FIFA inspect the pitch on Tuesday but thats just a normal procedure with any new pitch, grass or otherwise.
Roll on Friday!
The ground will look like **** when they show the match on tele
And how do you work that one out? The pitch looks fantastic, I have never seen the ground in such good condition and there will be a huge attendence. It will be our first proper home game of the season, there will be a great atmosphere and rivalry. What more do you want?Originally Posted by Dyl10

Most of the rubble is behind the new terrace, where the old shed was, and will be inaccessible for the match obviously. The camera will be facing the stand so you won't even see the rubble on the TV.
Well on the contrairy i've honestly never seen Oriel Park looking so well! Take a look at it, pitch looks fantastic and goes well with the painted stand and new full length terrace...I heard a large chunk of the ground is covered in rubble?
