I'm joined by Mark Kennedy of Hawkeye Sidekick and Philip Flanagan of The Bottomless Pit of Football to discuss two games we really don't want to talk about. There was an element of denial about qualifying for the European Championships in Germany next year when the group draw was made. We've been angry with the results(including the most losses in a single campaign since the 1972 European Championships), and despite numerous bargaining efforts with whatever god would listen, it's all left us pretty depressed with the current state of the national side men's team, to the point where we have all accepted the manager's time in charge is ending soon

A few other youngsters, who we don't talk about that much yet, are on the bench.

    Val Adedokun at Brentford
    Aidomo Emakhu at Millwall
    Tyreik Wright at Plymouth
    Alex Gilbert at Middlesbrough
Harry Vaughan and James Furlong at Hull

    And one experienced starter:

    Enda Stevens at Stoke

Thanks! I did get Stevens, and should have spotted a few of the others. Is that Adedokun's first inclusion in the PL squad this season?

First time in a PL squad ever, but he was an unused sub in their league cup game against Newport at the end of August

Kilkenny man Ciaran Brennan's time with Sheffield Wednesday may be coming to an end. The 23 year-old CB played 21 times for Swindon Town in 2022/23, averaging 70 mins a game, and previously had 18 appearances for the Owls' first team. However injury and managerial changes have left him out of the action at Hillsborough; he is out of contract in June and new manager Rohl wants to trim the squad, so Brennan will probably leave in January. Perhaps a stint back in EFL2, or in the LoI, could revive his career?

Sheffield Wednesday ace now told it's 'time for him' to leave Hillsborough in January - Sheffield Wednesday News

I'm joined by Mark Kennedy of Hawkeye Sidekick and Philip Flanagan of The Bottomless Pit of Football to discuss the Republic of Ireland Men's Team's final Euro 2024 qualifier against the Netherlands, and the final game of 2023 against New Zealand, which became the final two games of Stephen Kenny's reign following the FAI's announcement that his contract would not be extended.

With the recruitment process for a new manager already in progress, what are we looking for in the new manager, and who are the favourites for the position?

I'm joined by Mark Kennedy of Hawkeye Sidekick and Philip Flanagan of The Bottomless Pit of Football to review the performances of the Republic of Ireland Senior Men's team in 2023, from the opening friendly against Latvia in March, through the qualification campaign for Euro 2024, to the final game of Stephen Kenny's time in charge against New Zealand in November.

What were the highs and lows, and that, if anything, was learned from each game?

Haven't done one of these in a while, so time to start the new year off with the first of a three-chapter episode in the programming tutorial series I've been posting on YouTube. Here, I'm using NodeJs to prove that Evan Ferguson's start against France last March made him the third youngest player to start a competitive game for the Republic of Ireland men's team
