Has any other season ticket account holder not yet received the usual email from FAI/Ticketmaster with a link to access their e-tickets?

4-2-3-1. We don't need 2 holding midfielders. Got at them from the start so it doesn't start becoming nervy

The bookies have us favoured to win by 3.5 goals. I think we'd all settle for a 1-0 at this point.

No more of this 3-5-2 rubbish.

Bar the kick-off (the quick sweep pass to Doherty and forcing of a corner in the first seconds of the game), there was no evidence of benefits from the Bristol/ Turkey training camps. Presumably they were working on something, with the 3-5-2 shape the focal of that. I wouldn’t panic change that shape now with a two/ three-day turnaround between games, and especially knowing we can score goals against weaker opposition with this shape (our traditional Achilles heel), and the fact that we don’t have a specialist full back in the squad. This notion of Collins playing in midfield (seems to be becoming more and more popular) stems from games like this as the 3-5-2 shape allows one of the CBs to push up and come from deep to join the attack as a "free" man.

The performance was so underwhelming on Friday, and the manner of the defeat so deflating, I’m hoping there’s not a long night ahead. As it, I’d settle for a 1-0.

It makes sense that he would have been picked for the squad and team by a succession of managers. Kenny has used him less than others have but he is there as a squad leader, he brings both experience in a young squad as well as "something different" off the bench. He always shows up, as you point out, and always gives 1000%. I'm not going to begrudge him his century. Fair play to him.
I'd feel very similarly to this. My annoyance is more at some of the other players not making themselves more effective in the meantime. Be interesting to see a list of wingers who have made their debut since mcclean did and who he has seen off. Be a bit like the list of midfielders Stoke bought to replace whelan

At this stage I'm numb to the whole thing. I've had 2 or 3 posts written and can't find the words. I don't even really blame Kenny at this point. He obviously knows he's out of his depth and is waiting for the inevitable pay-off. It's not his fault the FAI gave him a contract. It should have been taken out of his hands long ago.

I noticed Kenny mentioned the fact that tonight's game is more or less sold out. Hopefully that fact might give the FAI the nudge they need. I expect at least 10k people will have a ticket for the game and won't bother turning up. My party will be 6 of them. It's not worth taking time off work and making a 200 mile+ round trip to watch this lot.

I might not even bother watching on TV. The whole situation is dismal.

I'm not reading much into the game being a sell out beyond that it was sold as a two-game package with the Dutch game in September. Like you said, a lot of people aren't going to bother going tonight.

Of the 4 in work who normally go, I am the only one going tonight the others couldn't even give away their tickets. No one wanted them.

Strange team. Is Knight playing at wingback?

Either that, or 4 at the back with O'Shea on the right

I’m shocked that Johnston doesn’t start. If not this game then which one?

It looks a fairly “plodding” selection but we’ll see.

Yeah, that's my initial take too.

We shall see. I'm not sure what McGrath brings here though

Is this the worst lineup we have ever fielded? At least on paper? I feel like Andy Reid would be the best player on the team by a country mile if he was in it. Or Stephen Hunt etc.
