The 82 teams going into Friday's draw for the qualifying round of the UEFA Cup tomorrow (Friday), have been separated into 'geographical' groups.

Shelbourne (unseeded) are in Group 8, consisting of 4 unseeded teams and 4 seeded teams.

Shels will be drawn against one of the following seeded teams:
Brøndby IF (DEN);
FK Partizan (YUG);
FC CSKA Sofia (BUL);
Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR)

that's what i call a 'geographical group'

Dont know how the geographical tag got associated to those groups as apparently theres nothing geographical to them as can be seen.

Apparently they drawn something like this:
1,10,11,......
2,9,12,......
3,8,13,......
4,7,14,17,.....
5,6,15,16,.....

and so on....until have half seeded & half unseeded teams i think.

Don't know why Uefa waited til the day of the draw to announce the groups as the seeding were known at least a few days beforehand.
