    New Season

Any changes (to the rules/format) this year in your area.
in ebs sdfl Dublin the Under 10's are now 9 a side which gives an extra 4 kids per game a run which is a good thing.
They also abolished the 7 a side for under 11 which was ridiculous to look at
because of the size of the Kids compared to the pitch..

Only negitive about the nine aside is the size of the pitch, all the games I saw last season looked a bit cramped. Not much time on the ball.

    yeah you're right there,
because in a lot of instances its the same pitch they were using for 7 a side
that now has an extra 4 players on it.

Rather than starting a new thread this is the closest to what I want to post on. New season and support required. Richard if your still about I will be at some stage in contact with you. Since I'm taking U-8's and U-9's for the forthcoming season with huge levels of interest I would at some stage like to organise a competition with everyone getting medals. All our U-10's got medals at the end of last season after a competition we stormed through last season and it meant so much to them. Since there will not be competition and rightly so for U-8's or U-9's I want to have something to gear the season toward.

I know we talked up a possible competition last season. I'm not about so much anymore hence the time since I last posted. MervilleUnited has a contact for me in any case.

    Thanks,

    Brendan Grufferty,
    Drumbar United,
    Donegal Town.

    Talking Keeping the Dream alive

Greetings all, nice to see the forum still alive and kicking

Weather is getting lousy, so games outside the league becoming a improbable concept

However, if HarpsBear wants a game on the new all-weather surface at the Showgounds....it could be arranged!

Otherwise, lets keep this forum going in the interest of keeping in touch, after all, when Mr. Kerr loses his job next week, who is going to provide the next generation of players..before we head down the Scotland/Wales/N. Ireland route!

Oh good, I shall go to that one so, provided my wee cousin is picked. Jaysus, the weather was crap at the all weather pitch yesterday, ****ing rain
