    Question

Ollie Byrne was the main advocate of the 10 team league as they need the away crowds from dublin derbys to keep afloat. Shels got feck all home support but will usually match this with bohs/pats/rovers support.

The 10 team league may kill off the likes of Ramblers or Limerick but is this necessarily a bad thing? Can the league continue to look after the lowest common denominator or should it seek european progress.

Monaghan & Galway (to lesser extent) looked like relegation fodder from week one of the season & brough nothing to the season. They made the best case for the 10 team league.

Would city fans object as much if the travel was eliminated?

They might object if there was no-one they could beat comfortably.............or if they got relegated from a ten team division ( which is what will happen if they continue in the direction they're going in -tell me who the bright prospects are in the city team, and I mean the non-defensive players ).

I can almost hear the replies of O'Grady this and O'Grady that, but who is going to turn a game for you once Cahill is gone?
Where are the new Pat Morleys and Johnny Cs ?

Having that said I'd like to see Cork go full-time and do well, the League needs good teams from outside the pale and Cork and Derry are the most likely contenders.

I was just about to say what an outstanding prospect I thought Neal Horgan was and then I say the non-defensive bit. Maybe you have a point!

    Forgotten CPOB already have you?
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

He looks promising all right but are you going to base all your attacking hopes on the shoulders of one young striker?

As opposed to $hel$ & one aging striker all season.

We also have Steven O'Flynn (Gunther stubbornly not giving a chance) & Welsh (untried since moving from non-league)

Colin P would appear to have a very promising future.
