Actor Paul Darrow. Best known as Avon in (showing my age) Blake's 7. Never a big sci-fi fan, but I loved that show.

I made a little tribute which I posted on Youtube which includes some of our highlights following Ireland:

Danika McGuigan from "Cant Cope, Wont Cope". She was great in it. Always very sad for cancer to take someone so young.

Daniel Johnston. First heard of him in 2007 or 2008 after watching "The Devil and Daniel Johnston". His music was a bit out there for me (i do have a couple of his songs on my giant playlist) but he inspired many and his life was like one big crazy story. At last he can rest in peace.

Just for form's sake I am going to mention Gay Byrne here since future generations perusing this thread might think we didn't notice. Sure, he knew nothing about sport although he did contrive to have me miss Match of the Day on Saturday for many years as the parents weren't for budging from The Late Late. My mother was also a panelist a couple of times, once with my sister on a mother and daughter chat and she was exposing views slightly to the right of John Charles McQuaid :O
