Elena Baltacha, British ex-tennis player, died of liver cancer aged only 30.

30 seems so young to die of any illness. She only found out about it 3 months ago, just weeks after getting married.

Played up until November too. Amazing how quick it can be. Horrible really.

Her dad was on the bench for the USSR in the Euro 88 game against us.

This Christopher Zambra lad that was shot dead at the weekend. Who did he play football for? I don't recall him at all and yet he's being described as an ex Irish youth international footballer in the media.

I actually meant to ask that too! And wasn't there a Ross Zambra playing LOI a while back too?

Very sad news indeed. Irrespective of your standing, that young fella touched a lot of hearts and his bravery, despite his young age, was inspirational.

    Malcolm Glazer.

Who was 85, and hadn't been seen in public since a stroke eight years ago.

And his son, who's also at Manchester United, is called Avram.

I didn't know any of this at all.

Well that's two Glazers gone from United now. The other was the trophy cabinet maker...(Too soon?)
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

Maya Angelou. Who wrote seven autobiographies.

First one covers the time up to when she was 17. Apparently she was raped aged 8 by her mother's boyfriend; she told her family and the guy got one day in jail for it. Her uncles killed him within days of his release. She saw the power of her words and didn't speak for five years. Not your average autobiographical story.

To be honest, it's a name I knew but had no idea who she was really.

Ack. Bottom was simply brilliant, one of my favourite every comedies. The Young Ones was more patchy but had brilliant moments.
