    Roger Hunt, age 83.

Scored the first ever goal in Match of the Day, and I think it used to start the intro at one stage too.

Colin Powell worth a mention though possibly not to the younger among you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Powell

I remember him lying through his teeth to the UN to try to justify the invasion of Iraq. What I didn't know is he had a role in whitewashing the My Lai massacre too. May he rot in hell.

The worst thing about Colin Powell is that he was the best of a bad lot.

Jesus yes. When your cabinet buddies include Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld it's easy to look positively angelic in comparison.

Walter Smith was a Scottish football great and too modest to shout about it

Announced today. I thought he was older than 73.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Celtic fans might be in a position to correct me, but the impression I got was that he never really got invested in the ugly side of the Old Firm rivalry, just got on with his job as a manager.

For all the obsession with money and property he ended up with what everyone else does - 6x3, and maybe sooner than he should have. Though it's a pity he did't get there via a spell in a 6x8 with bars on the window...

American football icon John Madden, I hope he said a Hail Mary instead of called for one.

Hugo Maradona, aged 52 of a heart attack.

I suspect he spent quite a bit of time having fun with his big brother...

I was sad when I heard that, one of my favourite artists. There won’t be a dry in the house at the funeral.

He was a genre all to himself which i think speaks volumes about how talented and appealing he was, musically.

Really liked him in Fight Club too.

Turns out Covid was the cause of death. Sad to lose a music icon over a refusal to be vaccinated.
