interesting to see how this pans out
Delaney said that he thinks Shelbourne F.C will be the first team that makes it to the group stages of the Champions League because of the champions vision and the quality of the people invovled in the club.
He also said that Shelbourne F.C have been cynically targetted by other jealous clubs in the Eircom League and its totally unjustified.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Who's the fella interviewing him - he sounds drunk ! Particularly in the opening bit....
I love the reference to teams folding "in the last number of decades" - i.e. the interviewer couldn't name any teams who had recently, so just threw in a comment that could stretch back to the likes Tralee Dynamos and Newcastle West !
I think he was talking about teams like drumcondra!Originally Posted by dcfcsteve

Sure teams in England (Accrington Stanley, Telford, Wimbledon) and Scotland (Clydebank) have folded in the intervening years, but I didn't hear him use it to suggest those leagues were in crisis...... !

His agent who was with him swore blind that Shane was sober that time but due his damaged liver he sounds as if he is drunk even when sober.
