Anybody know what'll happen to Marko Pantelic??

On loan at Hertha from Red Star(?) and is playing brilliantly. Is he likely to move there?

Just saw last night. They're showing Red Star's (I'm guessing they're Crvena Zvezda) match in the Uefa next Thursday on Setanta.

1-1 at the mo. Roma took the lead Red star mistake. Zigic, the monster he is, scored the equaliser.

Am I the only one posting in this thread anymore?

The final score was 3-1. First time I saw Crvena Zvezda play and I was really impressed. Kovacevic is a really good player.

They played really well from the off but gave away a sloppy goal, as soon as Cassano got the ball I knew it'd be a goal.

Zigic is the obvious threat. All the balls went to him and he has good ball control for someone his height. His second goal was a cracker, his first was a good header but I thought the keeper could have saved it.

I missed the second goal and I'm not sure who scored either but overall Crvena Zvezda were deserving of the victory. Brilliant performance.

Another thing, the atmosphere was amazing.

I've been following this thread on and off over the last while and have always meant to ask where CTID and Partizan developed their love for Yugoslavia/Serbia Montenegro? Does it stem from family ties lads, or just a sheer love for the place and its people?

After seeing the passion of the fans and the players last night. I quite like Red Star myself now.

Nope. But you can fly from Heathrow or Paris CDG for not the worst price. Somewhere in the region of €225-300. Don't even think about their national airline JAT (joke about time). Old knackered planes.

Well in my own case, it stems from enjoying watching the national team playing in the 1974 World Cup Finals in West Germany as it was then.
Being particularly taken with the skills Dragan Dzajic. Through him got interested in Red Star and then eventually when I visited the place sheer love for the place and it's people.

Hold on their bald eagle. I have flown JAT on two occasions and was impressed by the quality of the service provided by the stewardesses and the food is ok by airline standards and included in the price of the tickets too.

As regards cheap airlines I think Malev fly there too but you would need to change planes in Budapest!

Two websites... www.fsscg.co.yu and www.uefa.com Click on COuntries and then when the drop down menu comes up Click on Serbia-Montenegro will get you fixtures. You could also try Meridian League as an entry in Google.com
Most football websites have an English as well as Serbian version of the page, although not all the items may be translated!

Thanks edmundo for reviving the thread !

Zigic and Kezman will be the strike force at the World Cup barring injury he is class. The atmosphere is amazing for big games like the UEFA Cup games and Derby matches. The problem is that admission prices are at €5 for a League game around 8% of a weeks salary. So fans pick and choose the games they go to. With the result that a UEFA Cup game will have anywhere from 35,000 to 55,000 at it as will a derby with Partizan. A lesser derby with other Belgrade clubs will attract between 7,000 and 12,000 and other League games against provincial clubs, unless there is a particular rivalry with them could have as few as 3,000 at them.

The big derby match will be on April 1 in Partizan Stadium. A positive result for Zvezda could put them out of reach to the Zebras.

    Current reading material:-
Behind The Curtain by Jonathan Wilson ( subtitled Travels in Eastern European Football) and another one How Football Explains the World by Franklin Foer. Both books have excellent chapters on football in Belgrade and in Serbia-Montenegro.
