That's not true though. The Faroes natiiinal stadium in Torshavn doesn't meet the Category 4 requirements for group stage games. I think a lot will depend on the result of the 1st leg. If Derry do well over there I think they’ll have a decent turnout in Tallaght - probably not a full house but maybe 5-6 thousand maybe.
Also, BATE and CSKA would be more familiar names than Tobol Kastanay so they probably aided Dundalk and Pats crowds.
It’s safe to assume that Basel would have attracted much bigger interest from the neutrals.

In the eventuality of KI reaching a group stage they would likely gain a dispensation for the same reason Faroes can play Nations League and Euro qual games, there's a decent cat 3 available, cat 4 not on option and the huge distance to travel to another federation. Though, mind the fog.
I see they’ve kept the ticket prices the same. Bit of a crazy decision that, you’ll get very little neutrals forking out the guts of 30 quid per ticket to watch that game

Oh dear. Such a poor decision from the club. Not entirely surprising, as they've been far too stubborn over European prices since 2017.
The excuse used to be that because capacity was limited, higher prices were justified. That doesn't apply to Tallaght.
A poor result this afternoon, and it'll be a few hundred in Tallaght. Vital that we bring some sort of a result back from Kazakhstan.
I wont bother at those prices tbh. Its different when its your own team but as a neutral I can watch the game online.
30 euros won't get me in to Tallaght to watch Derry.

Brutal decision. I had estimated 5-6K in attendance if the prices were 20, or maybe even more if the Derry were leading the tie and prices were lower.
At that price they’ll be lucky to get 2-3K.
Wonder how much it will cost a Derry fan to go to the match in tallaght? 30 quid for your match ticket is very steep and I can only speak for Bohs busses but they're usually between 15-20 quid depending on location and number of people who are going. Then food & drink for the day (even if they're non alcoholic beverages) you're probably looking another 15-20 quid per person at least! Could end up being some cost for a "home" leg.
Id say Derry and back would have to be €60-70 quid on fuel now. Then take a average family of four the tickets are £70. Its long day out with food and other cost thrown in.
Probably £25, maybe £30 for a bus. Add on your match ticket, food, and maybe a couple of pints; you're not getting much change from a hundred quid.
Combined with needing half a day off work and eight hours of travelling midweek, the appeal begins to wear off.
Probably unlikely considering the ticket prices but would the club look at running subsidised busses? A good support could make a big difference in a tight game

If there's nothing to play for, few will be bothered going. In that case, I'd suggest we should put out the youth players and save the main squad for the cup match against Pat's on the Sunday.
More generally, don't know why clubs don't do joint match/transport tickets though. Different levels, but the Germans have it sussed. A joint cup final/rail ticket can't be that difficult to organise?
The difference being that you can actually get to wherever you want to easily by train in Germany. You can't even do Galway to Sligo by train without having to go way over to Mullingar and change, and there aren't that many trains a day going from there to Sligo anyway. Plus trains here don't run 'late', so even for fixtures that it would be possible to get to by train you'd have to leave way before the end of the game to get the last service home. The last train from Dublin Connolly to Sligo on a Friday is at 8:50pm, for example. So you'd get to see about 5mins max of an 8pm KO at Tallaght Stadium before you had to rush to get the Luas up to Connolly.
Then there's getting a combined match and train ticket to Ballybofey
Not just the trains. I was in Freiburg on holiday a while back and it coincided with Freiburg SC having a home Bundesliga match. Bought a match ticket and then found out that it also brought free travel on the trams to and from the city centre to the stadium, which was out in the suburbs. (They've since moved to a new stadium in another area out by the local airport, but I daresay the same applies).
