Champions league 3rd round 2nd led : Rosenborg Vs Steaua B'rest

Rosenborg got a 1-1 result in romania and are currently leading Steaua in Norway by a goal to nill

    Rosenborg (Nor) 1 - 0 Steaua B'rest (Rom)

I hope Rosenborg do it. It would kill me if Steaua made it to the group stages

Why? Only makes you realise how far behind the eL teams are when they get hammered in round 2 by someone who gets hammered in round 3. And Rosenborg were the cushy draw?!

I dont think anyone would argue the EL has an awful lot of work to do but it was a more a case of Shels being particularly poor in Romania than the Romanians being particularly good.

Rosenborg are in bad form at the moment and is one of the easier draws if you take all the group 3 teams. Shels had a very good chance of making it to the group stages but the team is in bits this season.

    Rosenborg (Nor) [3 - 2] Steaua B'rest (Rom)

    38' [1 - 0] J.G. Solli

    60' [3 - 0] M. Radoi (o.g.) 74' [3 - 1] M. Radoi

3-2 result on the night. (4-3 agg). Rosenborg go through.

Very close in the end, Rosenborg obviously arent the force they once were.

I'm getting conflicting reports, but it seems to be 3-2 still.

Some very weak opposition in the CL group stages now. FC Thun, Rosenborg but just two. Rangers might even make it through

Wouldn't discount Thun. They've beaten Dynamo Kiev and Malmo home and away and we all rememember Basel having a great run a couple of years ago

And Rangers will defo get through

i think FC THUN were playing non league football 9 years ago

Rangers should go through, unless they balls it all up. Its about time we had a club in the CL group stages me thinks

I still think we are a long way off getting a team through to the group stages unless the draw really fell in our favour.I'll probably regret saying this but i think Cork are the best equipped team at present to make the step but the fact remains that our league isn't good enough. Most players worth their salt are going across the water to play instead of staying at home and most players that come home have failed.Until we can keep our best players here and have proper structures in place at all age levels with proper support from the FAI,the Government & the public we will always struggle.

Artmedia Bratislava also got through last night, on penalties against Partizan Belgrade.

SO yeah, some not so strong teams indeed...

Cork, $hel$ or Derry are capable, depending a lot on the draw.
I think Thun got teams that any of the 3 el sides mentioned would have a good shot at beating.

Artmedia are the worst team I can ever remember qualifying. Artmedia, Thun, a poor Rosenborg and Rapid Vienna all qualify so far.

If they can get through then I dont see why an EL team cant go through.

Did they qualifyfrom the first round?

I dont know if they will get all that money, I think it is down to how many people will watch the games but it will be something close.

Pretty sickneing from a Shels point of view TBF
