I would too but you also know the stick he'll take if Ferguson misses for putting that pressure on an 18 year old starting his second game for Ireland.

I presume Idah is at least going to play a part, given he's been named in the match day squad and that he performed so well in a similar sort of game against Portugal. Would be very surprised if he starts though. I'd say Ogbene and Feguson get an hour to run themselves into the ground and then, depending on the score to a degree, we'll probably see Idah and Obafemi (or a another midfielder if we're holding onto something).
We'll probably be holding on to our rosary beads at that stage

Ferguson tool a penalty in the shootout for the under 21s if I recall. It was awful and easily saved. Wouldn't be be first choice to take one tonight. I'd possibly say Josh Cullen would get the nod.

Fellas young and old going to a game to see an opposition player is sickening.

Once it's matchday Ireland may as well be playing 11 Johnny Onion-Rings for all I care.

Never ever cared who was in the oppositon 11.

Fcuk Mbappe, I hope he gets the legs kicked off him in the first 2 minutes and has to go off injured so anyone there just to see him gets disappointed.

    Obefemi surely has to play
He is our only player who can create and score something out of nothing
Let's be honest France will score so we will need that bit of magic

Sometimes the streams on those sites can be hit and miss. No harm to have the back up!

Normally I can just buy tickets no problem - but with this game everything sold out so quickly that after an hour, it was only behind the goal and the corners where tickets could be found. So I hung around, not sorting tickets trying to get something that would work.

Was told it was sorted on Thursday and got a text last night saying there was a problem

I'd love to see Molumby getting under Rabiots skin in midfield. Bit of old fashioned Denis Wise nastiness. Rabiot is temperamental.

We are all worried about Mbappe of course, but Griezmann coming from midfield could kill us. Cullen really has to have eyes in back of his head to follow him all night

Nothing to fear in that lineup....let the fun begin! Been a while since I was properly nervous prior to an Ireland game.

Obafemi for Ogbene, and that would have been the line out id have gone for. Still not sold on Ogbene, particularly his last few months at club level once his head got turned on a potential move

That’s the line up I expected him to go for. I like Ogbene, and I’d trust him to put in a real shift rather than Obafemi to be honest. He has a knack of getting a goal too. Also not surprised with Knight before Smallbone.

Realistically, don’t expect us to get anything, but neither do I expect us to get thumped.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

It's a toss up between Ogbene and Obafemi. Front two will need to get through a mountain of work defending from the front and being an outlet for balls in behind. With his lack of matches might have been a bit much for Obafemi to say we need a 100% out of you for most the game if not all the game as you'd want himself or Ferguson to finish the match. Can hope it's still level or a goal down by the 60th minute and then spring him from the bench.

Looks like a decent line up to me - no complaints! (Am referring to the Irish team, BTW )

Not convinced by Ogbene in the centre. Prefer him out wide in the 5-2-3. Id have gone for Obafemi up top. Probably would have inched Smallbone ahead of Knight but very tight.

As an aside, just imagined Ogbene having the pace to mark Mbappe at RWB. Outside the box anyway
