I've added a temporary (read "ugly-as-hell") links directory on the site, which will be parsed into a database later and used in a custom-coded app. The links come from the ODP (Open Directory Project), but I've validated most of them and removed the fluff. It's a bit dodgy at the moment, but feel free to add or modify anything I've sccrewed up.
