I would imagine the home shirt, at least, will be changed before next summer.
They usually change them every 18 months or so.
Does anyone know if the current Ireland shirt will be used for the world cup(chickens counted bla bla) or will we be bringing out a new one should we qualify?
Thanks

Both Home and Away shirts will be changed before April 2006 regardless

On a sidenote - I just some someone wearing the latest Ireland shirt without the ugly Eircom logo. It had the Umbro badge on it too so it looked like an official one. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? I couldn't ask the fella myself because I saw him on the street when I was on the bus Perhaps it was an imitation shirt? It looked genuine though. Maybe he got it from an Ireland player
I have one of the WC 02 jersey's without the Eircom logo (a friend of mine knows one of the kit fellas). I think you can only get them from a connection within the FAI...Originally Posted by Irish_Praha
The same was expected going into the WC in 02, but they didnt change the home jersey, just the away one if i remember rightly.
So you never know, if we qualify it may be the same jersey.
The last jersey was only around for about a month so i think this one will be here for a while yet.
The 2002 World Cup shirt was released in August 2001 for the last qualifying game against Holland and was slightly modified with the addition of extra text "World Cup 2002" only for the Irish market in April 2002.
The away shirt was issued in April 2002.
Both Home and Away will be changed should we qualify for the finals in Germany

Was in Pat Chaney's "Soccer Shop" on George's St there half an hour ago. I asked him about the Home jersey. It is to be changed in March 06 regardless of WC2006 Qualification.
The away jersey is to stay until the start of the next campaign.
Which begs the next question.....
If Eire do qualify for the WC, and the jersey was being changed anyway, will they do a special one off kit for the WC and the release another for the Euro 08 qualifying series.
Perhaps...

I remember walking down Henry Street in July 2002 and I saw a fella with an official Ireland jersey. It had Keane and the number he was supposed to wear on the back (No. 6 I think?). On the front it had Germany V Ireland, 5th June 2002. I actually followed the guy to get a good look at the jersey. It looked like the real deal. I presume he knew somebody and got one of the jerseys that Keane was supposed to be given for the Germany game.

Also, there are a number of fake Irish shirts going around that look authentic but aren't! This is a good example - the shirt is not even the same colour as the one Keane is wearing!! This is another - some chancer tried to sell me this ... the World Cup logo is on the wrong sleeve ffs!!

the private feedback says it all, I would never buy from someone with private feedback, and he is registered in Hong Kong too, - no way hoséOriginally Posted by soccerc

not sure this is true but i heard a story that the guy that got his hands on this jersey turned up at a keane book signing and asked him to sign it for him! keane apparently asked him where he got it from and signed it anywayOriginally Posted by TheJamaicanP.M.
