Yes unfortunately Bohs had their tactics spot on. With the tactics we have we struggle to break teams down in any meaningful way. In Division 1 you can rely on defensive mistakes, Bohs didn't make any, so we didn't get any chances.

I don't think we didn't show up. Bohs were just good at stifling what we wanted to do. We use the wings a lot in Division 1 but Ed McCarthy was kept quiet by Bart. Knocking the long balls up to Wassim and Walsh was very effective against Dundalk because they didn't have competent CBs but I knew that wouldn't be as successful against Bohs.

For us to win we needed Bohs to drop their levels, unfortunately for us they didn't, it may not have been pretty but they played quite well. We probably would have been suited better playing Pat's rather than Bohs.

Overall though it was a fantastic occasion for the club, great atmosphere and colour and the club is in a great place heading back to the Premier Division next season.

We've walked through Division 1 this season but fans had better be used to a similar style of match as we saw on Saturday as we won't be changing from that!

Yeah - that could be an option. I don't really like them though. It's probably the lowest wall in the whole league but certainly a plan needs to be put in place for next season.

To be fair to the Bohs fans 95% of them were running the celebrate with the players but I guess like a lot of these things it's all ok until it isn't.

I think because there is probably a decent crossover with GAA fans that is why there are often kids going on to the pitch at the end of matches.

That's what they do - they trickle the sections out, and usually starting with the crap ones away from the middle. It's really annoying as you have to hold out in the hope of better blocks appearing.

I've done Premium in previous years as a neutral and it's a good experience. Are those not on sale now?

Ticketba$tard are the main reason the cup final will never sell out. They repeatedly make a balls of ticket selling. I have no idea why they don't just release general tickets for most of the stadium straight out. They can still set aside home and away tickets for clubs while making most of the rest of the stadium available for neutrals or general sale.

Its absolutely ridiculous that its like a game of chicken and holding out for tickets you want to go on sale. After a few cup finals it became very obvious that it didnt help sales with people taking the upper tier corner seats - especially when there wasnt allocated seating or it wasnt policed properly or a lot of people were allowed overcrowd in to one or 2 sections leaving empty areas where tickets were sold for. You would think that ticket sale issues have been copped on to and sorted. There has been and is potential to break 40k imo. If the numbers are less then the unsold seats should be bunched together in the corner of the upper tier same side of the main camera positions. Not having fans spread out, neutrals also, adds to atmosphere never mind the general look of a 'full' crowd. Of course the game itself can make or break and atmosphere but all attempts to maximise the occasion should be expected from FAI Nua.

I have definitely skipped several trips to Croke Park over the past few years as a result of Ticketmaster's nonsense. The only available options being terrible seats while much better situated blocks remain closed off is a classic Ticketmaster move. Very offputting.

Well folks. That ticket release was a **** show from start to finish. If the FAIlures can’t organise a cup final ticket sale then god help Euro 2028.

Literally de ja vu of how they handled the 2021 final. Info on various sections blocks given to clubs, then don’t allow fans to select which block you want to pick when the tickets do go on sale, then tell people the entire north stand is sold out when it isn’t, then kick people out when attempting to pay. Not to mention telling both clubs there will be a 1 hour (way too short a period anyways) priority window for members and season ticket holders only to not facilitate that at all in the end. Absolute shambles, my hatred for Ticketmaster is endless. I see they’ve now added the ability to select the block you want on the ticket map but it’s too little too late for the people that bought tickets in whatever block they could get at release time. Should’ve been sorted for the release time, which, now that I mention it, was cleverly put on the same morning as the Euro 2028 announcement. Utter genius from the FAI there

My son went on yesterday and got three in the section next to the south stand.

What are the potential support for Bohs and St. Pats at the FAI Cup Final?

I reckon Bohs have the bigger potential to attract more fans. Bohs are capable of getting 20,000+ out, while St.Pats would be looking to attract 10,000 and upwards.

The potential is for an estimated 35,000 attendance, especially if the weather is kind on the day.

I genuinely think it'll be close to a sell out, something like 45k.

Both clubs will be pushing hard to try and get to the 20k+ mark and there should be more neutrals than usual given the general increased support in the league particularly from the other Dublin clubs.

It's obviously a completely separate thing but given how much interest there was in Galway for quarter and semi final tickets it's opened my eyes to just how high the ceiling is for LOI support.

Where does the income for the cup semi final tickets go? I saw it mentioned that there's a 40-40-20 split between home-away-FAI in the rounds leading up to this? I assume the final is no different?

For arguments sake 51k x ~20 quid is over a million quid that could be generated from ticket sales alone for this one game. This has turned into serious business for the FAI real fast.

Sports direct are in the first season of a 3 year sponsorship deal, it's hard to know what sort of situation the economy or Irish football will be in by then but you'd hope there'd be a queue of bidders coming to sponsor the cup when it becomes available.

20K tickets is an insane amount to flog within the first few hours. I think in a funny way the ****e facilities usually in place and the lack of tickets all year for LOI fans has meant people have made sure to buy early. Once there's talk about it selling well there can be a snowball affect and people will get tickets if they think there's a fear of losing out later.

Don’t think Bohs are going to outnumber us 2-1 ! I think there is every chance the attendance will be over 40k, in fact I’ll be disappointed if it’s not.

When you think, we used to be able to hold the final in Tolka, it’s fantastic to see.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Considering it was 37000 in 2021, this is heading for a near sell out. Pats support has ballooned since and Bohs has grown from a high base. The ticket prices mean no one who wants to go has an excuse. Weather won't be a factor as no one turns up on the day anymore

I'd be very surprised - and delighted - if the game sells out.

My guess is an attendance of 35-40,000 - and closer to the latter.

Will be an even enough split between the clubs, similar size fan base imo.
    Probably about 10k neutrals
