We shouldnt end up talking about fans on the pitch but it does look fooking awful!!
No pretty to watch, the old cliche of typical cup tie, lots of frantic play with plenty of bite. With 4th place gone for Dundalk I think I was swaying toward hoping for Galway to at least go to ET. Caulfield and Horgan are some sight prowling the touchline, you wouldnt know who was really calling the shots there. It is great to see a packed out ground like that on TV, it felt like an old fashioned FA Cup tie at a lower league club that youd see on BBC. It looked damn close to what could be safely held irrespective of the calls that more people could be squeezed in.
What a dreadful game of football.
Galway will be disappointed with that, didn’t show up,Bohs didn’t impress much either but managed the red card well and deserved to go through….
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.
As per DD, it was great to see a full TL or ED stadium. Credit to Galway for what they have achieved this season and the will be a welcome addition to the PL. Neither team had any chance of impressing anyone with the quality of the referring who completely destroyed the game.
Doyle ruined that, arrogant little hitler hasn’t a clue.
That said, Galway were better than I expected and are a welcome addition to the top league, hard luck to them and congratulations also.
We had to manage that, but did ok.
Gutted at the no-show by us - first time on live TV in seven years and that’s what we produce, why couldn’t it have been the Dundalk game!
The pitch invasion after the game didn’t look great but apart from a couple of scrote-bags - boys and girls - who didn’t look old enough to have made their Confirmation giving it the billy-big-b0llix, it was very good natured, enthusiastic rather than bad-minded.
I wonder have Galway ran up fines with the FAI over that this year. Games seem to end with kids swarming the pitch each and every week.
The double pitch invasion is a bad look for security in the ground as it was for the game vs Cork late last year. Stark contrast to Treaty's last trip there where 50 fans were pinned in with no access to food.
Sorry, I'm going to pick up on this. It's been a very engaging season at Bohs but a very intense one. For better or worse this Bohs team have mirrored their manager's personality. Very combative, a team that thankfully have a lot of fight but don't make things easy on themselves. It's been a season that you find yourself very involved in. So I get shinkickers point.
Fair enough. From the outside looking in it seems like it's gone quite well so I didn't understand the point. I predicted you'd struggle a lot more than you have. Afolabi has made you competitive but i don't think it's a particularly strong bohs side and Devine seems limited enough. Could be the right man to fire you to a cup win though and as much as I hate picturing that, I wouldn't begrudge good football people having a nice day out. It's the best sporting event in the country for me. If your team is in it!
I feel like Galway should be disappointed that they barely created a clear chance all game but they were given a great opportunity to do so via a dodgy red card so can have no complaints. Expected a bit better of them but Bohs are a good side to be fair. I've spent much of the season thinking that they and Shels are good sides, better than Pats on the whole, yet we're somehow still ahead of both in the league even if it doesn't finish that way.
We should win tomorrow on balance but I still do not trust this team in the slightest. Will happily take a repeat of the 2021 cup though outside of the assault from the definite non-members of Bohs' Welsh fraternity on the day.
