Yes he was.i thought he was just another daryl Murphy looking at yesterday a big strong black lad who can hold the ball up well and turn but wouldn't do too much in the premier league. Now Kenwyne Jones showed the difference between a championship striker and a decent premier league player. I say decent cos he would be ok mid to lower premiership

Wouldn't be the first description that springs to mind for Daryl Murphy.

Bournemouth have slowly got to grips with Murphy as the game progressed.

Ipswich look vulnerable whenever Bournemouth launch an attack - and Bournemouth should arguably be in front. Ipswich have completely ceded possession and you don't do that to a Bournemouth team that are this good in possession.

Disappointing tactics from Mick Mc. Hopefully Ipswich can do the unlikely and hold on to the points.
Wouldn't say he won "rave reviews", he only started two wins in the Premier League, didn't play for Reading at all after early January and eventually went on loan to Ipswich in March where he scored his only goal that season

One man's battling quality is another's huff and puff with no end result. That's how I saw Tabb on Friday, though I have seen a lot of skill in him years ago.

Goal #24 ensures the three points for Ipswich at home to Cardiff. With Wolves and Brentford both losing, Ipswich now have a three-point buffer at the foot of the play-offs with three games to play.

And with the weakest of the three teams as well. I wouldn't have seen nearly enough to have an opinion though, but hopefully he wins.

Christophe Berra is top of that stats, Deeney has the best stats of those nominated, however
as they seem to be strongly influenced by goals Murphy might win it.
Berra has the most MOTM awards. (11).
Murphy has the best of those nominated (6).

25th of the season for Murphy, who will be mystified by how he wasn't named POTY.

Showing the alleged judges the folly of their pitiful selection while Bamford toils to no avail against Fulham while Middlesbrough's title hopes evaporate.

Ipswich back in front - Sears from Murphy's assist. Bamford's Middlesbrough have fought back from 3-1 down with 10 men.

Murphy named in PFA Championship Team of the Year to make up for POTY heartbreak.

Quite an achievement for someone ranked 171st in the Championship stats!!

Maybe one of his assists impressed the panel, or maybe it was the other one!!

It's not that uncommon, only once in the last five seasons has the Championship top scorer also been player of the season
In 2013/14 Ross McCormack scored 28 goals, Player of the Year Danny Ings scored 26
in 2012/13 Glen Murray scored 30 goals, Player of the Year Matěj Vydra scored 24
In 2011/12 Rickie Lambert scored 27 goals and was also Player of the Year
In 2010/11 Danny Graham scored 24 goals, Player of the Year Adel Taraabt scored 19
In 2009/10 Peter Whittingham scored 22 goals, Player of the Year Kevin Nolan scored 18
