O'Neill said Murphy and Keogh were carrying injuries and he was going to send them back to their clubs but they wanted to stay. Keogh ended up going back for treatment but for some reason Murphy ended up staying and went on to miss his next league game with an aggravated injury.

So I'd give him the benefit of the doubt for now. 10 league goals at this stage of the season and top scorer in the league is nothing to sniff at.

Bamford is also eligible for Ireland but it seems he prefers England.

First senior hat trick for the lad, 17 for the season. He's already surpassed his previous season's best.

Another one for Murphy - he's got back the goal tricky cruelly deducted from him.

First goal from open play in 10 games for McGoldrick in injury time to rub salt in Charlton's wounds. Murphy has 7 in his last 7 games now and leads the goalscoring charts with 3 more goals than Derby's Chris Martin.

Murphy, McGoldrick and Stephen Hunt respectively with the assists.

Luke Chambers with another clean sheet.

Another very productive day for the Irish at Ipswich.

    Jay Tabb started too.

Hunt only came in after 94 mins acc to BBC.

McGoldrick hit the bar 3 times.

Very encouraging by Murphy. If only he can look as comfortable against even the lesser lights of European football. He has the ability.

Both relegation battlers, currently Ipswich are top tier team by two points, West Brom by one point
and Crystal Palace are a Championship team by 1 point.

So he will have to see whther he is taking a step up or a step down if he moves. I'd say he may well be better off staying where
    he is.

I am afraid he was very poor in the game against Derby where only McGoldrick stood out to any extent of the Irish on show.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
