A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.
There is four Limerick lads in the squad, five each from Cork and Galway.
Over the last two seasons we have used and lost players from Limerick who either got better offers or moved down:
Tadhg Ryan went to Bohs,
Clyde O'Connell is playing in Asia,
Red Hanlon dropped to junior,
Sean McSweeney moved to Dublin and signed for Shels,
Alan Murphy wasn't good enough,
Aaron Fitzgerald didn't work out,
Ed McCarthy left 3/4 of the way through the season due to work commitments,
Joel Coustrain dropped to junior after two appalling seasons,
Adam Foley didn't work out.
Outside of Treaty you have Killian Brouder at Galway, Will Fitzgerald and Karl O'Sullivan at Sligo, Lee-J Lynch at Coleraine, Ronan Coughlan at Waterford, Shane Duggan at Fairview, Conor Coughlan and Steven McGann are two of the best players in Limerick and turned down the chance to play.
I would like to see loads of Limerick lads in the squad, but it's not realistic because the only lads that would commit are underage players/graduates and how many of them will ever be good enough?
