The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
The Shels defenders all stopped waiting for the whistle that never came.
When I played in the U-8's league one of the first things we were told was to play the whistle - basic stuff. Fabio kept going coz there was no whistle wheras the Shels lads all froze.

Why is anyone surprised? The incidents after our victory over Shels in tolka are almost identical to those last night. Fans invade pitch, players brawl e.t.c
I'm going to be contraversial and say I enjoyed watching it as it showed the absolute decline of Shels. Desperate actions by Fenlon and co. because they realise their season is over and the attempt to buy the league has failed. By god i detest Shelbourne!
p.s To the $hels fan who said they they don't worry about their rivalry with usWe won't be worrying about you either because we have a title race to worry about.

The point was there is no rivalry between us from our end, it is a complete one way rivalry. If we finish bottom of the first division and you win 10 in a row it wont change that, that isn't the issue.
And as I have stated before this supposed apathy from you to us is contradicted time and time again by your thug players winding us up, your thug secetary and his famous actions and your thug fans trying to charge us after the cup game!

Not really, every single Shels fan is 100% behind you winning the league if we don't. There is no rivalry there no matter what you try and create.
I think that the top brass in the league are actually afraid of Ollie, that's why they won't stand up to him. He's a bully with a big mouth and it's about time he was brought to order.
Maybe the FAI could ask Roddy to attend the disciplinary committee meeting to keep Oily in his place
Thats why Ollie acted as an auxilliary ballboy, demonically sprinting up the steps of the Riverside stand the last time we beat you, thats why Heary and Collins attacked one of our players on the pitch, thats why a section of your fans shouted sectarian abuse and had to be restrained by the Gardai at the end of the game....etc. etc. etc.

How long have you been supporting Shelbourne? There has been serious rivalry between Shels and Derry since the mid eighties. We got promoted together when we were in the first division in 86/87, when Derry won the league by 6points (days of 2points for a win). Shelbourne actually used to get a healthy enough crowd at the time but it was probably to do with the Derry City circus coming to town. We also had the famous FAI cup matches then about 15,000 there for the 2-2 at Dalymount, followed by a 4-0 relay win for us. This rivalry has continued due to the fact that we were sparring partners back then. Shelbourne were never seen as a big club but we still had a rivalry. How many cup matches have we been drawn against each other in the past number of years? Quite a lot. Playing all these cup matches against each other makes a rivalry. If you look back at the records in these games we have knocked you out on most occasions.
Your arrogance in belittling this fixture probably explains the attitude of your players when playing us. I was always confused how they could never raise their game against us

I've only been a Shels support since 1992 but there has never been a big rivalry with Derry. Most Shels fans would have a positive opinion of Derry and will certainly be hoping for them to win the league ahead of Cork.Slash/Ed

Shels rivals are Bohs, Pats and Rovers, simple as that.
Cork are emerging as a rival too, but if one or both clubs slip down the table in the next few years that rivalry will disintegrate too.
Doesn’t matter where the teams are in the league when two of the big Dublin four meet, it is always a big game and sweet as hell to win!

Where does it say that you have to hate a team to be consider it to be a rivalry? I wouldn't hate any team at all. Our biggest rivals would be Harps - I have no hatred at all towards them. The hatred from some fans only seems to have stemmed since the clubs started to segregate Harps/Derry fans. I have enjoyed many a nights banter with them over the years and love them bearing gifts of 3pts every match we play them. We only do well when Harps are in the top flight - we are guaranteed points.
I have a respect for what Shelbourne have achieved over the past number of years and they were a credit to Irish football last year, if not this year. This big Dublin 4 thing is ridiculous. It just shows the narrow mindedness of people from Dublin. There is no big club outside of Dublin.
