Depends how much you bet on Harps to beat Galway i suppose.

Hard to know. I thought the Galway figure was low, and I thought the Bray figure was low as well. Either way, two healthy attendances at Finn Park to kick off the season. Interesting to see if it drops off any further for Wexford, given we're promised bad weather for the weekend.

Shed was a lot less full and a lot fewer away fans. Behind the goal was much the same. I think there was definitely more than 2500 at the first game. I would say 1500 odd seemed right

Obviously the unusual KO day would depress attendance somewhat, but surely 406 will be the lowest Premier benchmark for the season?

It's already the lowest crowd between both divisions, so far.

Not really, that’s close to our max and the Jodi is sold out for the season, plus 1200 school end tickets, so that’ll be our crowd give or take 300 all season.
That rovers crowd is way up on their usual monday crowd, corks away would be small, and it was a ****ty weather day in Dublin.
No walk up would affect it, and they may even have just counted season tickets and had a lower crowd who knows.
Dalymount easier to estimate on telly cause under the camera there’s only the away stand of 450.

Rovers not counting season tickets unless scanned in. Attendance looked right enough on yhat basis.

I would imagine Bohs would do that as well? Can anyone confirm?

I was there with 405 others.

Really terrible crowd. I suppose with Bohs and Rovers both at home and it being a bad night weather-wise in the hours before the game most neutrals stayed away.

Completely devoid of atmosphere so Derry did well to stay concentrated and get the job done.

Has the Irish League experienced an upward increase in their attendance figures like we have in the 'Greatest Little League in the world' ???

Unfortunately, that's one of the main problems with the UCD club format. Very hard for them to generate a real local hard core support. But they are in the Premier on merit a lot of clubs can learn from their setup. ?

Yes. 15% up on last year according to this, with an average of 1,656

    https://www.nifootballleague.com/new...he-rise-again/

I think Crusaders v Glentoran cup quarter-final was sold out at the weekend.

The official attendances are reported on the Official NIFL site each week. Because there are some pretty small clubs in the top flight some of the attendances are quite small. Carrick, Dungannon and Newry seem to average about 500. For whatever reason Glenavon are only slightly above that but they should really be getting bigger crowds, they've struggled the last few years but maybe something going on behind the scenes that crowds are staying away.

I think Glentoran have the highest average. Linfield obviously play in the biggest capacity stadium, but I think that sometimes hinders their crowd, apart from the big derbies the ground is devoid of atmosphere.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Presumably the start of a simmering boycott and the 'Dennehy out' campaign

They're fairly decent attendanes for a Monday night to be honest (with one glaring exception).

Bonkers game at Tallaght. And the new stand there looks massive.

Football, and live sport in general, seems to be up pretty much everywhere. The Irish League is getting good crowds by its recent standards, but nothing like the opening crowds we've had so far.

Very big crowd for us compared to a normal Monday match but a massive drop off from 7600 on Friday.
There is always the issue of school night as we have a lot of young kids who come with their dads on Fridays but not on School nights and the weather didnt help. Still a massive drop off.

Bohs crowd is super for them as well Ditto Dundalks which was effectivly a Friday night crowd almost

Its just mad that it can be said that there was a drop of 3.5k and there is still a crowd over 4k considering that 3-4k at any ground, any game, on a Friday would have been nodded at approvingly. As a league, we need to make hay while the sun is shining! I know some clubs are, a new generation of lifelong fans are being made, even Kerry has a team now, but the old League of Ireland habit of fearing missed opportunities on and off the pitch simmers!
