The new arrangements at Dalymount makes things much safer, almost despite the local Gardas efforts
There's only going to be 450 tickets available for Rovers so that should reduce the prospect of trouble between the two sets of fans. The flip side of that, of course, is historically the local guards handling of the game has always been slipshod to say the least. To be fair to the tallaght unit they're normally on the ball in terms of handling potential trouble issues, but maybe boez fans have a different view on that.

Totally agree their pc, the store street mob haven’t a clue and seemingly little interest in olicing it properly, also agree the tallaght games are very well organised.
The fans really have to take on an amount of responsibility too though, in these times of members and st holders claiming all tickets it worries me that the trouble seekers still come out of the woodwork for this fixture and still cause mayhem.
Sorry yeah I know, didn’t read it properly

Virgin announcing they are showing a live game could have been the catalyst for this announcement and IF they were both to compete to show live games it can only be good for the game. There may not be money involved but is free advertising for the game and with so many full houses it will ad to the attraction.

A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
Shelbourne v Derry is live on RTÉ tonight. RTÉ are ignoring Louth GAA as well due to poor camera positions. Dundalk v Rovers is the standout game today. Another reason to have LOITV than rely on a broadcaster.

Can we read anything into this move by Virgin!
Are the FAI involved in some ongoing behind the scene talks about a proper TV package for the league?
Part of the new FAI structure and changes was to look at the overall TV coverage of the domestic league games. Promotion of the games is an important structure to the games here!
Maybe to arrange a full season coverage that is not combined or dictated by the Irish International's team games.
Anyone got any insight or details, if this is coming down the line.
I guess the fixture involved has made it attractive to them to pick it up. It's actually now clashing with Leinster in the European Cup Quarter-Final on RTE so it will be interesting to see what sort of numbers it does for them.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"
It's all over every news bulletin they do and pretty much every advert too. Interviews with Coote and Devine today and I assume the Rovers camp over the next few days. They're definitely giving it a big push.
Hopefully the goys do the bizzo.
