I wish him all the best, but I don't think he's international class, try's hard but I'd doubt if the French defenders are quaking in their boots!!!

Best of luck to him and i hope it works out.I am sure that he is taking a drop in pay as well.I think it will improve him as a player and will do us good in the long run as he will get regular football.

I agree that they'd work well together but there seems to be talk that this move will allow Norwich to sell Ashton. I doubt that's what they'd want though. Good luck Clinton. Say hello to Alan Partridge when you get there.

Pretty well written article. No doubt get people to spell and grammar check and probably even type for them.

    We'll miss Clinton

The talk in Birmingham has been dominated by the news that Clinton Morrison wants to leave the club. I'm not really surprised because Mikael Forssell has come in over the summer, as has Walter Pandiani, and it's obvious that his chances here are limited.

Clinton wants to play first-team football and clearly feels he's not getting the chance he deserves at Birmingham. He's found himself on the bench for the first game of this season, while he spent most of last year among the subs as well, and it just seems enough is enough for him. I think he feels that now's the time to move on, especially with the World Cup less than a year away.

A lack of first-team football could seriously affect his international place, and I'm sure that's part of the reason why he wants out. It's every player's dream to play in the World Cup finals and I think Clinton wants to make sure there's no chance of it being taken away from him. The World Cup is a big inspiration for someone to want to play week in week out, because if you're not playing how are you going to get in the team? I'm sure that's what he's thinking. He's got to do what feels right for him, and obviously a new challenge seems to be what he's looking for.

I'll be really sorry to see him go, though, because we need strikers of Clinton's ability in our squad.

No footballer is ever happy when they're not in the team. Everyone one of us wants to play as often as possible and no player should be satisfied if they're not playing. Clinton has found himself in a very difficult situation and I feel for him. I really do. Last season I was left out when I felt I could do a job and it was very frustrating.

He's made a very brave decision. He could easily stay at the club, but that's not what's important to him. Playing means more. He's given it his best shot at Birmingham, but he's clearly decided that his situation won't improve here and it's time to leave.

I'll be really sorry to see him go, though, because we need strikers of Clinton's ability in our squad. He'll be a big loss because he's different to the other strikers that we've got and poses a different kind of threat. He can hold the ball up very well and if you give him the opportunities in the box he'll score. Someone like that is invaluable and he'll be very hard to replace.

i think this shows morrison is respected by his teammates and i for one think he is an excellent player and has huge potential. he is still quite young and not in his prime. im banking on him being a huge hit with ashdon at norwich and coming back to haunt birmingham, whom he has been treated so poorly by

While I think himself and Ashton would compliment each other, I reckon he is being lined up as Ashton replacement.

i was listening to an interview with morrison about 2 weeks ago. in the interview he said he was "very proud to be playing for my country" and was willing to sacrafice wages at birmingham in the search of regular football so as his international prospects wont be harmed. everything he said gave the distinct impression that he considers himself irish and i think i recall you making similar comments on another thread with regard to englishness/irishness. all i can say is that im proud that morrison plays for ireland and i think hes gona improve no end in the coming 18months, i see signs of him being a real quality player

I doubt Morrison considers himself Irish but there's no point going back to that now.

So am I. Morrison turns up every time he is picked and wants to play, unlike some 'real' Irishmen who only play when it suits them.
Honest! I am not a secret Tim nor a closet Sham - I really am a Seagull.

    Clint considers himself 100% english.

But he is in here to do a job for us until we start producing strikers on our own who are technically competent.
