He was a generational standout player in the LoI though. The others aren't.

On Kenny specifically, his miss from eight yards early on was a shocker too

It's funny how the bad is always mentioned, yeah he missed a chance he was offside for anyway, but what about the run and shot the keeper made a great save from, which led to the corner which the goal was scored from.

Kenny made an excellent run and the strike was even better as he was off balance .

Fair. I think that chance was less good than the miss was bad, if that makes sense. It was a routine enough save ultimately; it could have been a better chance if he'd managed to bring the ball down better with his previous touch. He wouldn't have been off-balance for the shot of he hadn't let the ball get away.

If he was offside for the miss then that's on him too.

May sound harsh, but that's the margins at the top.

I'm not saying he's a complete donkey obviously. But they comments on the Sam Curtis thread also show a half-decent LoI player has a lot to do to show they're international standard. Byrne is possibly the only one in recent years (maybe since Crowe/Byrne) to do so

I only got to watch the 2nd half of this so can't really comment, but my biggest take away was the strength of that Chelsea team honestly, did not expect so many really established internationals to be on the pitch, the Irish senior team would have struggled. Rovers did look decent for the last 20 odd minutes when a raft of subs came, would have been nice to grab a 2nd goal. I think a degree of the substitutions were to reward people who deserved a few minutes on the big stage, Greene especially.

Got a run out against Raith. Looked to me like he was trying a bit too hard to get involved. Maeda put in a great low square ball that he didn't attack and Maeda gave him the evils. I noticed then that after Maeda scored his 3rd Kenny ran to congratulate him but Maeda blanked him, I think because he preferred to run to the assist provider, but to me it looked like the body language from Maeda wasn't great!

As you know I don't watch Celtic that much, but anytime I saw Maeda when he had the shaved head, he always looked like a scorpy kant to be fair.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

Scores his first Celtic goal against Aberdeen tonight, on his first Celtic start. Puts them 4-1 up with half an hour to go.

Downside is his start comes at the cost of putting Idah back on the bench. Not sure if this is Celtic putting him in the shop window for a summer move, or if they genuinely want to look at him for next season. You'd have to imagine the former given how little action he's seen since returning in January. Still, a goal's a goal.

Ever Celtic player is in the shop window, no? Kenny had a tap-in to win the Rangers game if Maeda gave him the ball but happy to see he got a start and scored a good goal - timed his run to get ahead of the defender, made a clean connection, and placed it well. Goal in the last five games for the dropped Idah ...

10 minutes away from potentially having to take a penalty in a Scottish Cup Final here...

Have to say he was really poor during his stint on the pitch. No presence at all up front. A bit mad that they've ended up with him and Yang up front in extra time in their biggest domestic game of the season, neither are anywhere near good enough.

Just needs to make sure he buries his penalty now if he takes one.

Scored it anyway. Which is more than can be said for Celtic's first taker

Scores it, but Celtic miss two others and lose. They were awful up front throughout and Idah and Kenny will take a lot of flak for their part in them blowing a treble. Both were anonymous during their time on the field. Scales had a decent game to be fair, he wasn't the issue at all.

I wish scales had taken a few more shots. You could see him thinking about it a few times and changing his mind. That extra time was woeful I'm general.

Rodgers tactics were brutal today as well

I thought Scales was excellent actually, and @rebelmusic, yes you could see him thinking of shooting a few times but took the safer option each time.
