They could and should have been a few down before scoring and then the last kick of the game Peters missed a penalty.

Think that St Peters will wonder all year now as to how they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Westport were not at the races for the first half.Peters shouldhave been 3 nil up at half time. Missed two one on one chances in first half.

Westport got a quick goal just after half time to level and then started to play ball. It was end to end stuff for a while with both teams having chances. Westport got a good goal but faded in the last ten and the keeper saved them a few times. It was seat of the pants stuff and then peters missed a penalty (keeper made an excellent save).

Westport looked tired but if you can beat quality opposition like that while playing badly then it should take a lot to beat us now.

Well done to the 'Heane for winning as well.

Interesting comments from Pike's Declan Considine in the Star today... He urges people to put 50 on Pike to win it out and comment that "when we beat Ballymun we will be unstoppable"

Confidence seems to be very high in the Pike camp!!!!!!!

Pike were a fair price in Ladbrokes at 12/1 to win it from the start.. they are definately Limerick's strongest hope of winning the competition.. Carew Park were very lucky last week with two late goals and are playing with a very tight squad at the moment.. would fancy Castlebar to cause an upset on Sunday.

first off all it will be no upset if castlebar beat carew park they are a cracking team who beat westport home and away this season.i will admit carew park did not play well at all on sunday it was there first game in 7 weeks and looked well off the pace but its never over until the ref blows the whistle as they say. what i do not agree is your comment and carew squad getting thin carew have a strong squad e.g on sunday they had 18 in the squad they were missing one paul quinn who was in england for the weekend look at there subs on sunday monty, bob o byrne, james naughton, john carey, denty, denis griffin, bubbles, and you can add paul quinn to that on sunday coming

The words pride and fall spring to mind. There are too many quality sides still standing to make such a claim!!!!

connie is doing what he does best, playing mind games, the legs are gone, to make up for it he goads people...and it works for him..look what he done to Albert slattery in jackman last year threw him a line and reeled him in...pike probably have the best squad in Limerick...i beleive decisions on the sideline will have a major impact on the result

Very true point CTFC, there's still at least 8 strong teams left in the competition that could win it:
    -Clonmel Town
    -Ballymun Utd
    -Portmarnock
    -Carrick Utd
    -Westport Utd
    -St Kevins Boys
    -Carew Park
    -Killester Utd

Agree with you there HurYa. Castlebar Celtic are a very good side, well organized, good at the back and have signed a few exceptional attacking players in the close season. It would not be an upset per se but Celtic have no real pedigree in this competition while Carew have been knocking on the door for the last couple of years.

Celtic only beat westport once this year, away 1-2. We threw it away. I would definitely say that they are well capable of beating any Junior side on their day.
