Athenry v Ballyheane or ULAA
Pike Rovers v Salthill Devon or Waterford Crystal
Clonmel Town v Castelbar Celtic or Neilstown Rangers
Portmarnock v Killester United
to be played weekend of 4/5 March
Honest! I am not a secret Tim nor a closet Sham - I really am a Seagull.
i fancy all home wins in those ties
Well Done ULAA, very hard luck Heane, Its all down to the Celtic now. Would it be fair to say that this is the most open FAI junior cup ever?
clonmel town my favourates to win. pike and port next best chance with there home draws in 1/4s
haven't seen clonmel at all this season but they've always been good and have been knocking on the door for a long time now.i still think that pike will be very hard to beat as they have a very good defence.
Athenry thrilled with a home draw - all previous games have been away - including two trips to Dublin.
With Portmarnock and Killester drawing each other, one of the self-proclaimed "Big 3" (Pike being the other) go out.
I think all of the remaining teams reckon that they have a chance. Too hard to call.
Home advantage could be the decider.........
Athenry are at best an average side who are riding their luck, should have been on the way home at half time against Dublin Bus and then sneaked a penalty from their only time in Bus penalty area in second half.Originally Posted by cooee
Likewise, Portmarnock are living on past glories and haven't impressed me this term. Some senior players should call time and hang up their boots and while Killester are a strong physical side I can see Ports just sneaking it.

Soccerc just wondering which Portmarnock veterans you are referring to and when you have seen them play this season to base your opinion on?
Was it maybe the Leinster Junior Cup game before Christmas when we beat your beloved St Francis 6 or 7-1?![]()
Ok so we lost
Otherwise a great day. Tight game, good crowd and tense atmosphere.
My sincerest congrats to ULAA. A sound bunch and I was amongst them for most of it !!. I hope they enjoyed the Heane and got home safely and left with a good impression of Ballyheane and Mayo football. The Peno was hilarious and I heard that an esteemed member of the Mayo branch thought it was correct as well, just goes to show you their are idiots in every county.
However the sending off of our super keeper cost us as he would have saved 2/3 of the pen's going on all his previous efforts.
Best of luck against Athenry. A good side but Manulla humbled them twice so one would wonder how good they really are !!
Could you tell your female fans not to ask ye to 'Keep up the pressure' as we all know pressure is for tyres.
By the way did ye enjoy the Guinness ?
Athenry v ULAA
Pike Rovers v Salthill Devon or Waterford Crystal
Clonmel Town v Castlebar Celtic or Neilstown Rangers
Portmarnock v Killester United
So is the Salthill Devon v Waterford Crystal on this coming Sunday?
Carew Park has appeal to the Senior Council so hence the hold up on the Castlebar Celtic/Neilstown Rangers game.
Yes hard luck to Ballyheane and well done to ULAA in reaching the Quarter Finals.
A game dominated by Aisling eventually went the way of the deserving winners. As you'll agree, there was the most blatent penalty decision not given to the visitors in the first half by the 'home town' ref..Add to this, Aisling created all the chances including hitting the woodwork twice..Originally Posted by mossy
Fahey had to be sent off for the professional foul as he was the last man and Cusack would have walked the ball into the net for a late winner before extra time..The Heane, in fairness to them, did a great job of running down the clock in extra time with virtually all the team going down for cramp.
The Limerick lads also missed 2 penalties to win it before sudden death...
So to say Ballyheane were unlucky was a massive overstatement.
Don't write off Aisling to lift their first FAI Junior Cup either!
Wasn't at game yestarday but one thing about what you say about above bothers me, no such thing about home town ref cause the referee was not from Mayo at all!!!!! Again congrats in reaching QF's and wish you luck in next round.Originally Posted by Yorkie
Congrats to ULAA they deserved their win yesterday. We huffed and puffed but were not able to carve out enough clear cut chances. Just remember that our season finished last sept, so we might be forgiven for being just a tad jaded near the end. As for wining the cup outright I think a performance like Yesterdays definetly wouldnt suggest it.

So ye have a break from September to March!! Wouldn't like to be not playing for that long though have to say. Limerick teams might get 2 months if they are lucky. Pike and Park rgs played the last game of the season at the end of july last year, the season started again 3 weeks later.
