Bottled it? Average Fariview side? This is just nonsense. And by the way; I'm not from Carrick so you can stop using the word 'ye'. As I have said before, I just enjoy watching football in south tipp and have no affiliations. Looking forward to the Carrick v Pike game even more now. I hope the Carrick lads read your posts. Nonsense!

Look, widow is a ballynanty supporter/player trying to stir sh*t up for sunday, he'd like nothing more than for pike to lose on sunday.

Ps. they were an average fairview team, one or two top players alright but that was it. Fairview haven't beaten pike in about three years, roll on sunday

the carrick game was in the munster junior cup, all the same the crystal seem to have hit a bad patch at the wrong time, losing to dungarvan last week or the week b4 at home and now to go down heavy to carrick, confidence must be low,i thought ye said pike kicked lumps outa carrick last time too....did carrick not win the game all the same? and i believe carrick are only after gettin stronger since then! just an opinion now men. Carrick are favourites and rightly so probably the best footballing team in the competition at he moment

Carew V's Celtic and happier matters

Heard this morning that Carew have lodged an objection against their defeat to Castlebar Celtic. The objection I've heard is based on a rule stating that only 4 ec-League of Ireland players may line out in the Junior Cup and Castlebar seemingly fielded 5!? Anyone know if this is true or anything of the rule?

Might as well state from the start that I'm a Covey. We've got Killester coming to town next weekend and if anyone from Killester FC need tips or help re their trip to 'The Port' drop me a line. I'll be more than happy to repay the hospitality show to us in Killester ast year.

I know that both Gerry Burke and Joey Maloney were both on Sligo Rovers books ar some stage. Not sure if they played or whatever. Would having signed for them be enough to make them ineligible????

What sort of a match do ye expect? I heard from some Westport supporters that they considered Killester the best team to play ye last year. Would you agree with that? How are ye fixed for injuries etc? All the best anyway, hope ye do it

Will be a tough game alright. Killester were the best team we played on our way to lifting the trophy last year. Very, tight and well organised with good quality all over the park. As far as I know there are no injury worries for the Coveys.

If they have played more than 5 games at senior level- so Castlebar can play 4 of these players. There is another rule that says if a player hasn't played senior for 5 years, he can be regraded to a junior player. That might apply to Dykes.Anyway, it all seems fairly complicated but I'm sure castlebar would have everything in order - time will tell.

Hope so, it's great to have 3 Mayo sides in the last 16 (hopefully!).

the new rule states that any player that has not played senior football in the previous 12 months atomatically becomes an amatuer player.. dont know if this is the same as regrding but seems to be...

Think this applys to domestic games ie county and provincial leagues and not the Junior Cup!?
